The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 63

"Sterling, you can't do this..."

Lydia's voice was hoarse as she stared at the boy who suddenly felt like a complete stranger. A flicker of utter confusion washed over her beautiful features.

It was as if she couldn't comprehend how he could change so drastically overnight.

"Why can't I?"

Sterling's attention remained entirely fixated on Elena, his tone airy and dismissive.

"Anyone who touches my girlfriend pays the price."

Elena suddenly realized her predicament. She was currently playing the role of Sterling Hawthorne's girlfriend, and she had just been publicly slapped.

If word got out, how would the Prince of the city ever show his face again?

"Sterling, out of the two of them, Sasha is the one who's hurt the most! She's already paid the price!"

Lydia's fists were clenched tightly, her body trembling slightly as her eyes rimmed with red. "And as for me, all I asked was for Elena to apologize. Not only do you refuse, but you're demanding Elena hit Sasha..."

"You're being completely biased toward Elena. It isn't fair!"

Hearing this, Sterling finally shifted his gaze, his cold eyes landing lightly on her. "So the one who is hurt the most is automatically in the right?"

Meeting Lydia's tearful eyes, he pressed his lips into a thin line. "Lydia, does your logic sound fair to you?"

"Besides, everyone has their biases. It's just that... you're biased toward your friend, and I'm biased toward my girlfriend. Is there a difference?"

This was the very first time Sterling had ever spoken so harshly to Lydia, directly opposing her.

And his sole reason for doing so was to protect another woman!

This random girl had appeared out of nowhere, completely hijacking the title of his girlfriend, leaving Lydia entirely blindsided.

"Is this because... of what happened earlier in The Whispering Grove? Because I didn't give you what you wanted?"

Lydia's face drained of color as she murmured the words.

"Sterling, you're deliberately making things hard for Sasha... just to punish me."

She tilted her head slightly, pressing against his arm and reaching out to hold his hand.

The moment she intertwined their fingers, she realized his palm was completely drenched in a cold sweat.

What a total poser!

It was painfully obvious that he was just putting up a tough front while his heart was practically doing backflips.

She knew it! There was no way this hopeless romantic had suddenly abandoned all his earthly desires to become a heartless jerk!

"Who are you calling thick-skinned? You're the one who shamelessly seduced Sterling into changing his mind! How could you be so cruel to Lydia!"

Sasha's voice dripped with pure venom, her eyes locked onto Elena as if she wanted to drill a hole straight through her.

She never expected things to escalate to this point.

Between Elena and her best friend, the Prince had actually chosen Elena!

Elena completely ignored her, turning her attention back to Lydia instead. "Lydia, I'll let your friend off the hook, but you need to step back too. Drop the demand for an apology. Deal?"
