Nora's words were not even finished.
Gideon suddenly raised his hand.
His well-defined hand swung fiercely across Nora's face.
"Smack—!"
The massive force made Nora completely lose her balance.
She fell heavily onto the floor, her cheek instantly swelling up, a trace of fresh blood seeping from the corner of her mouth.
Gideon stood in place, looking down condescendingly at the woman on the floor, his eyes devoid of any pity.
"What right do you have to feel wronged?"

"Your innocence was bought with Giselle's life!!"
A cramp seized her abdomen. Nora curled up on the carpet, clutching her stomach with both hands as her tears continued to fall.
Her mind was full of the words Gideon had just said.
Nora looked up, staring into Gideon's bloodshot eyes.
She was a victim too.
She had never thought about killing Giselle. She just wanted to explain everything clearly, just wanted to end the fear of being constantly schemed against.
How could she have known that an assassin who wanted her dead was hiding on the rooftop.
"I didn't know..."
