Giselle made up her mind, lifted her head, and scanned the glamorous banquet hall.
She wanted to find Gideon or Julian to go with her, so everyone could finally see Nora's true colors.
The right side of the hall was completely empty.
Gideon had answered a call from the security team ten minutes ago and went to the tarmac to personally check the finale fireworks schedule; he wasn't even in the banquet hall right now.
Giselle turned to look at the side parlor on the left.
Julian had just been pulled away by several family friends to discuss overseas projects, and now he was surrounded by a crowd toasting him, unable to slip away anytime soon.
Giselle retracted her gaze and scoffed.
Dealing with someone spouting nonsense like Nora didn't require Gideon or Julian's presence anyway.
Nora was nothing but an outsider who had forced her way into the Hayes family riding on Silas Hayes's will. She wasn't even worthy of carrying Giselle's shoes.
She could easily rip Nora to shreds on her own and let her know that the Hayes Princess was not someone to be messed with.
Lifting the heavy, complex hem of her dress and stepping in her diamond-encrusted heels, she turned away from the crowd and took the VIP corridor straight to the internal elevator leading to the hotel's roof.
The elevator doors slowly slid open on the top floor.
Giselle stepped out and pushed open the heavy fire door leading to the roof.
The night wind immediately hit her, messing up her perfectly styled, long curly hair.
The roof of The Southview Peninsula Hotel was vast and empty, bordered by a waist-high, semi-transparent glass railing.
A few dim landscape lights cast a faint glow, barely illuminating the path beneath her feet.
"Nora!"
Standing in the center of the roof, Giselle looked around and shouted Nora's name.
The roof was completely empty; Nora hadn't arrived yet.
Giselle stood in the wind, crossing her arms over her chest and rubbing the goosebumps forming on her skin.
