The Love I Begged For Was Never Real novel Chapter 275

This eerie calm lasted right up until Nora's birthday.

As evening fell, a black Maybach glided to a smooth stop in front of the Xavier Residence's wrought-iron gates.

The doors opened, and Gideon and Nora stepped out, one after the other.

Liam York had just closed the passenger door and was preparing to follow them inside.

Two security guards hired by the Xavier family instantly rushed forward, carrying a massive, intricately packaged solid wood box, blocking Liam's path.

"Special Assistant York, this is a fragile antique porcelain piece Mr. Xavier just ordered. The logistics company requires a dedicated person to inspect it and sign for it in person."

The guard plastered on a fake smile, awkwardly blocking Liam from the door. "Mr. Xavier specifically asked for your help to appraise it and verify the delivery slip since it's so valuable."

Liam frowned, turning to look at Gideon, who was walking ahead.

"Stay out here and handle it," Gideon instructed casually, stopping in his tracks.

Returning to the Xavier house today was just a formality anyway; it didn't matter whether Liam came inside or not.

With the order given, Gideon turned and walked up the steps to the Xavier Residence first.

The carved double doors were swiftly pulled open from the inside. Wearing a dark red silk dress, Mrs. Xavier bustled out, her face plastered with a smile so enthusiastic it practically overflowed.

Mr. Xavier followed closely behind. His usual stern chairman persona was completely wiped away, and his posture was even slightly hunched, giving off a clear air of sycophancy.

"Gideon, Nora, you're finally here!"
