This was Gideon for you.
He claimed to care about her progress, but in reality, all he gave a damn about was whether Giselle would be satisfied with her birthday present. All he cared about was making sure his precious sister's delicate skin wouldn't get scratched.
He had memorized her every preference. Even down to the shape of a millimeter-sized accent diamond, he could tell at a glance if it was suited for his pampered sister.
"I think you're confused, Mr. Hayes. This design was commissioned entirely by Julian."
Nora turned her head, meeting Gideon's gaze without a shred of hesitation.
"Julian spent millions of dollars hiring Lawrence Atelier to design this. As to whether it suits his sweetheart, that's Julian's problem to worry about, not something for her brother to micromanage."
"If you have an issue with the design, feel free to take it up with Julian yourself."
Pulling her gaze away, Nora flicked her wrist and instantly closed the drafting software. "As long as the client issues a direct revision order, I will naturally comply. After all, Julian's company paid the deposit, and I only answer to my clients."
At the mention of Julian's name, the lingering warmth in Gideon's eyes instantly evaporated, replaced by a flash of gloomy hostility.
"I am well aware this is Julian's order."
Seeing Nora bristle like a defensive hedgehog desperate to push him away, he suppressed his mounting frustration. Pulling out the chair across from her, he sat down, trying to use logic and business sense to sway her.
"Nora, Julian knows Giselle's tastes inside and out,"
Gideon explained patiently. "This draft completely clashes with her style. If you hand this to Julian, he's just going to kick it back and demand a revision anyway. Sparing yourself the extra work would be better for your current health."
That psycho Julian was every bit as meticulous and nitpicky as he was when it came to pleasing Giselle. If Nora stubbornly refused to alter the design now, the inevitable rejection from Julian's end would only humiliate Lawrence Atelier all over again.
