Gideon stood by the bed, looking at Nora, who had only her head poking out from under the covers.

His gaze lingered on his own slightly damp cuffs for a moment before he let out a self-deprecating chuckle.

Back when Giselle used to get sick, he would stay up all night keeping watch by her bed just like this.

Gideon carried the bowl of warm plum hangover soup to the bed. He scooped up a spoonful and offered it to Nora's lips.

"Nora, drink the hangover soup."

Nora caught the scent in her sleep. Instinctively repulsed, she immediately turned her head away, pressing her lips tightly together, her frown deepening as her face screamed refusal.

Seeing her tight-lipped, utterly uncooperative demeanor, a flash of daze crossed Gideon's eyes, quickly followed by a soft chuckle.

This unreasonable attitude looked remarkably like Giselle when she refused to take her medicine.

Whenever Giselle got sick, she dreaded drinking those bitter medicinal brews the most. Every time he approached with the medicine bowl, Giselle would act just like this—turning her head away, clamping her mouth shut, and even waving her hands to push the bowl away.

She would even hide her entire body under the covers, refusing to come out no matter how hard he pulled, crying and throwing tantrums simultaneously.
