The Ex-Wife's Burning Elegance novel Chapter 2097

For her, beating Joshua would be a total win, and even if she lost, she wouldn't lose anything real. The worst-case scenario was just maintaining the status quo.

Besides, in a race like this, raw skill wasn't the sole determining factor.

Intellect and sheer luck accounted for at least half the battle.

After all, motorsports required intense terrain analysis. A brainless driver could never survive in the long run.

But then again, if this came down to sheer intellect, she probably stood even less of a chance against Joshua.

Aurora led Stella and Joshua to a sprawling parking apron.

Dozens of high-performance race cars were lined up in pristine condition.

Aurora meticulously detailed the performance specs of each vehicle, using the opportunity to show off her extensive knowledge and superiority.

Joshua clapped his hands with a lazy smile. "Ms. Williams is truly impressive. You know more about these cars than a dealership salesman."

Aurora's smile froze for a few seconds.

Why did that compliment feel so backhanded?

Just as the two finished picking their cars, the club owner hurried over.

He started with grand hospitality. "Feel free to use any of these cars. Whether they get damaged or completely totaled, it's all on me. However..."

A troubled look crossed his face. "The outdoor track you selected was just rented out not too long ago. Would you consider choosing one of the indoor tracks instead? Or, perhaps I could have Henley talk to the other group so you can all share the track? They don't have a large party—only five or six people. The outdoor circuit is massive, so adding another ten or so cars wouldn't be an issue at all."

Stella raised an eyebrow slightly.

It seemed Henley was dead set on helping Aurora crush the 'novice rookie.' He had deliberately sent the owner over to claim the track was booked just so he could force his way into their race.

She saw right through his cheap trick but chose not to expose it.

"Then we'll have to trouble Mr. Holloway," she said smoothly.

Chapter 2097 2

"What? Some reckless woman actually challenged Aurora? Is she out of her mind?"

"You don't know the half of it! The challenger is her half-sister. She probably saw Aurora shining on the track and chased her all the way here like a bloodhound."

Chapter 2097 3

"Hehe, I kind of want to see this pampered princess get scared out of her wits and end up crying for her mommy."

"Can't wait to see Aurora put her in her place!"

Aurora was incredibly popular at the racing club. Almost everyone in the crowd was rooting for her.

She was one of the few drivers who had actually earned Henley's respect, which meant she had to be the real deal.

While the crowd buzzed with gossip, the announcer finally picked up the microphone and declared that the race was about to begin.
