The Endgame Chronicles (by Hugh White) novel Chapter 440

Chapter 440

The thin metal door buckled under the zombies’ impact.

Thud!

Thud!

Thud…!

“Move!”

“Come on!”

“Move it!”

The distance between the back door and the front door was about 100 feet.

The moment they reached the front entrance, the back door behind them crashed open with a violent clatter. A tidal wave of zombies poured inside.

They clawed and lunged, climbing over bicycles, scrambling up old wooden cabinets blocking their path, kicking over stools bulky box TVs, and smashing into kids’ push toys as they charged forward, snarling and howling.

Raymond’s hand shook as he fumbled with the keys.

There were too many. He couldn’t tell which one fit.

The stench of rot and the shrill screams of zombies exploded in his head. The more panicked he got, the worse his hands

worked.

Then, a calm voice rang out beside his ear.

“Don’t panic.”

It was unhurried and steady.

It cut straight through the chaos and slammed calm back into his chest.

Click…

The key slid into the lock. 1

Bang!

The front door burst open, and a rush of fresh air hit then in the face

Raymond led everyone charging out of the old building, and the first thing they did was slam the dot shit belund the iss

Bang!

“Raarh

At the same time, the zombies gathered outside the building heard the molar ant anged toward them

“Kaarh, rags, raartil

“Raarh”

“Raarl, taarh, raarh!”

Zombies flooded in from both sides of the building, solling in from every direction boxing them in completely

Seeing this, Raymond and the others immediately pulled out their weapons and fought to break through.

Matt clutched the medicatease tightly with one arm and swung his heavy iron rake with the other, charging headfirst into the densest part of the horde.

He didn’t slow down.

They were less than ten minutes away from the three-hour mark.

Aileen, the only medic among them, had told him Vanessa could hold on for no more than three hours.

They had to run!

Bang!

The moment they reached the base of the building, the front entrance behind them was smashed open by the zombie horde.

Starving zombies, eyes blazing red, burst out in full pursuit.

Hungry… So hungry.

That massive group of running food was right in front of them!

‘Raari:!”

‘Raarh!”

The swarm closed in from every angle, sealing off all escape routes.

Even Matt, who was charging hardest at the front, was forced to a stop by sheer numbers.

On both sides, his companions swung heavy shovels wildly, smashing zombies back as best they could. Raymond, the strongest among them, pushed his abilities to the limit, barely holding the line together. But as more zombies joined the horde, they were surrounded/completely, like food swarmed by ants. Watching from the rear, Hayley shook her head.

As expected, she couldn’t expect too much from a group of ordinary survivors.

They were just regular people, with average abilities and temperaments, They were so ordinary that they barely shows out at all

After this run, Hayley had them figured out completely

There was no exceptional talent among them, but they had heart They were people worth keeping

Hayley watched the zombies closing in, looking most lazy as she prepared to raise her hand

Just then, an old, trembling voice rang out behind her

“No one is allowed to hurt my son!”
