The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 273

Chapter 273

“Alex? No clue.’

“Nouvelle Retail ended their partnership with LY Technology months ago, Jessica said, frowning. “Think he’s supporting Emma?”

“He’s unpredictable and dangerous,” I replied. “Can’t waste energy guessing his motives. Everything ready?”

Jessica nodded. “Two weeks of your blood and sweat, right here,” she patted the folder. “Triple-checked. I’m with you all the way.”

Thanks, Jessica. Couldn’t have done this without you.”

The room suddenly hushed as Blake entered. Every eye turned toward him, his presence demanding attention without effort.

The doors swung open again. Emma strutted in with Richard, Elaine, and Matthew. Her supporters followed behind, creating a small

parade. Her expression screamed smugness.

“I will definitely claim victory today,” she announced loudly for everyone to hear.

Emma broke from her group and walked straight toward me, fake smile plastered on her face.

“Aria, so glad you made it,” she said sweetly. “I wanted to personally invite you to my succession party tomorrow. Small gathering, nothing

fancy.”

Her words hung in the air. My supporters fell silent, tension crackling between us.

Olivia stiffened beside me, fists clenching. I grabbed her wrist, shaking my head slightly. Reacting would play right into Emma’s hands.

“That’s thoughtful, Emma,” I replied calmly. “But you’ll be too busy canceling your celebration to host anything else.”

Emma’s smile vanished. “You never know when to quit, do you?”

“If I could attend your funeral, Miss Grant, I’d be too happy for words.”

Her face twisted with rage. “You” she sputtered, voice rising several decibels. The entire room turned to stare.

Matthew quickly stepped to her side. “Emma,” he murmured, “don’t let meaningless trash talk upset you. Wait for the results.”

She immediately composed herself. “You’re right, Matthew. Some things aren’t worth my attention.”

“This isn’t over,” Emma warned me, then turned away, clinging to Matthew’s arm as they rejoined her circle. She threw flirtatious glances at Blake, who stared straight ahead, completely ignoring her.

“Matthew has become Emma’s damn lapdog, Olivia growled, knuckles white. ‘I’m gonna have a serious word with my brother.”

Kevin suddenly appeared, grabbing Olivia’s arm. “Not now,” he said firmly.

“He’s right, I added. ‘Emma’s baiting you, Olivia. She wants you to cause a scene. Trust me, I’ll destroy her during the presentation

Olivia reluctantly backed down. ‘Fine. But Matthew and I are having a come-to-Jesus talk after this.”

We returned to our seats. Blake settled beside me, his hand finding mine under the table. I felt Emma’s gaze burning into us as her face

turned an interesting shade of blue-green.
