The CEO's Regret: His Lost Wife's Secret Twins novel Chapter 194

Chapter 194

BLAKE

The words on the screen blurred. My ears started ringing. This wasn’t happening. Couldn’t be happening.

“Blake… Kevin’s voice sounded far away.

“Get me a wheelchair, I demanded suddenly.

The medical staff exchanged worried glances. “Mr. Morgan, you just had major spinal surgery-*

I threw the covers off with my arms, wincing at the movement. “Did I stutter? Wheelchair. Now.”

“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” Kevin said, stepping forward. “Your cervical spine is held together with screws and prayers right now.”

“You think I give a damn about my spine?” I snapped, already pushing myself to the edge of the bed. Pain shot like lightning through my neck and down my entire back. Didn’t matter. Nothing hurt worse than knowing Aria was about to be someone else’s wife.

“Sir, please reconsider- A nurse tried to intervene.

“Either help me or get out of my way.”

Ten minutes and a bunch of liability waivers later, I got my wheelchair. The doctor made me sign everything short of my own death certificate. Whatever. I’d have signed away my company right now if I had to.

“So what’s the brilliant plan here?” Kevin asked as he helped me into the chair, careful not to jostle my neck brace.

“Finding Aria,” I muttered. “She drives to the branch office herself every morning. Takes that back road through the estates.”

Kevin shook his head. “So you’re literally gonna ambush her on her way to work? That’s your move?”

“Got a better idea? No? Then shut up and help me.”

The car ride was hell. Every tiny bump felt like someone was driving daggers into my spine. Sweat poured down my face. The painkillers were wearing off, but more would cloud my thinking. Needed to stay sharp.

“Pull over here,” I ordered my driver when we reached the quiet road winding through the estate district. When you see her silver sedan coming, block the road.”

My driver frowned in the rearview mirror. “Sir, that’s dangerous and probably illegal-

“Just do it. I’ll double your salary this month.”

Chapter 194

We waited almost forty minutes. I was starting to think she’d taken another route when her car appeared around the bend. My heart

hammered against my ribs.

“Now, I ordered.

My driver pulled across the narrow road, forcing Aria to slam on her brakes. I watched her face through the windshield-shock, recognition, then pure fury. She stormed out of her car with fire in her eyes.

“Are you completely insane?” she shouted. “You could’ve killed someone!”

1 motioned for my driver to help me out. As he wheeled me onto the road, Aria’s anger faltered for a split second when she saw me-the wheelchair, the neck brace, my probably ghost-white face. Something flickered in her eyes before her walls came back up.

“What the hell, Blake? You should be in a hospital bed.”

“You’re marrying Redwood.” My voice came out rough, almost a growl.

Aria crossed her arms. “Yeah, I am. Got a problem with that?”

“You really want this?” I demanded. “Him touching you? Sleeping next to you every night? Having his kids?” Each word felt acid in my mouth. “How am I supposed to just watch that happen?”

Aria stared at me, eyes cold. “Not my problem how you deal with it.”

“Aria, listen to me,” I tried to steady my voice. “There’s something you need to know.”

She rolled her eyes. “Save it. I’m done with your manipulations.”

“The water six years ago… it wasn’t you who drugged it.”

Aria froze mid-step. Her back went rigid before she slowly turned back.

“Oh wow,’ she said, voice dripping with sarcasm. “You finally figured that out? After six years of calling me a liar? Of making me feel worthless? Congratulations, Blake. Want a medal?”

I swallowed hard. ‘It was Emma. She confessed everything. She tried it again yesterday at the hospital.”

“She what?” Aria’s mask slipped. “Is she completely psycho? You just had major spinal surgery! Your body’s already fighting to recover!”
