Claire studied Caleb. His hair had grayed a bit, but his overall energy seemed decent.
He was definitely overworking himself, but he didn't seem to be suffering from any major health issues.
After all, as the head of a top-tier billionaire family, he had a team of private physicians actively managing his health.
At the slightest sign of discomfort, the medical team would intervene.
"Caleb, give me your hand," Claire said. "Let me check your pulse."
Just from a visual assessment, she already had a pretty good idea of what was wrong with him.
But she needed to feel his pulse to confirm her suspicions.
Caleb extended his arm. "Go ahead."
He felt perfectly fine, but his niece was supposed to be a medical prodigy, right?
It couldn't hurt to let her take a look, just in case something was brewing beneath the surface.
After checking his pulse, Claire fell silent for a moment.
Caleb's heart skipped a beat. What was wrong?
"Claire, just give it to me straight," Caleb urged. "I'm still a young man. I can handle it."
He wasn't exactly young anymore, but his pride refused to let him admit it.
"It's nothing life-threatening," Claire replied. "The premature graying at your temples is a direct result of extreme physical exhaustion and a severe drain on your vitality."
Caleb's expression froze. No man on earth wanted to hear that his virility was compromised.
Ignoring his sudden discomfort, Claire continued smoothly, "There are plenty of reasons for a man's vitality to tank, Caleb. It's not necessarily caused by an overactive sex life."
Good grief!
It was a topic he couldn't even bring himself to whisper about, yet his niece was discussing it with the casual indifference of reading a grocery list.
Before Caleb could even formulate a response, Claire added, "However, this level of exhaustion will absolutely impact your performance in the bedroom."
Caleb was speechless. She really had zero filter, he thought helplessly.
"Haven't you felt your stamina dropping over the last year or two?"
Claire's blunt question made a furious blush creep up Caleb's neck.
This girl!
Some things were better left unsaid. Why did she have to drag it out into the light?
"Fine. I'll write you a customized prescription," Claire said, amused. "Make sure you source the herbs from a premium apothecary. Low-quality ingredients will completely ruin the efficacy."
"I know how to get the best," Caleb muttered. "But this conversation stays between us, right?"
Claire raised three fingers in a scout's salute. "Don't worry. I have strict doctor-patient confidentiality. Not a word to a third party."
"What if Ophelia asks?" Caleb pressed, still paranoid.
"I'll tell her that your intense workload and constant all-nighters have taken a toll on your body. I'm just helping you improve your sleep quality, boost your energy, and restore your baseline health."
The excuse rolled off her tongue so smoothly that Caleb couldn't help but wonder how many times she'd used this exact cover story for other men.
Seeing the palpable relief on his face, Claire found the whole situation hilarious, though she maintained a perfectly professional mask.
"Honestly, you don't need to stress over it," she reassured him. "Most men hit this exact wall when they reach middle age."
Really?
Caleb's eyes lit up with hope.
If every guy was dealing with this, then his bruised ego could finally accept it.
