Zachary still didn’t answer. His eyes remained stubbornly closed, as though pretending not to hear it.
"What time did you go to bed last night?" She asked.
The concern in her voice was impossible to miss. She couldn’t stop thinking about the articles and everything he had done for her last night.
Finally, Zachary’s eyelids slowly lifted. He looked down at her with a sleepy smile that somehow made him seem less like the intimidating CEO of Sterling Capital and more like an ordinary husband who simply wanted a few more minutes in bed with his wife.
"I didn’t check, but when I return, you’ve already fallen asleep."
Sienna could clearly see the tiredness in his eyes. She drew her head closer to him and lightly stole a kiss on his lips.
Zachary was a bit taken aback by the stolen kiss, as if it were the first time such a thing had ever happened. His eyes narrowed slightly, almost as if he was asking, "Wow! What was that kiss for?"
Before Zachary could ask, Sienna spoke first. "That’s a gift for what you did last night..."
He smiled knowingly. "So, you’ve already checked the internet?"
"Mhmm." She nodded with a small smile. "I was curious. I wanted to see what those people outside were saying about me."
She drew closer to him and rested her hand against his waist.
"My hubby is the best. Thank you."
"I told you, there’s no need to worry about any of that." He paused for a moment before continuing. "If you really want to thank me, come with me somewhere this noon."
Sienna immediately looked up at him, unable to hide the surprise in her eyes. Since they had gotten married, Zachary had never been the one to ask her out.
Most of his time was devoted to work, and business trips often kept him away. Even on weekends, they usually stayed home and spent time quietly with Skylar instead of going anywhere together.
As she stared at him, countless possibilities began running through her mind.
’Is he finally going to introduce me to his friends?’
’Is he taking me to meet his family?’
The thought alone made her heart beat faster.
She couldn’t stop the nervous excitement that rose inside her. Zachary came from a world completely different from hers, and the idea of meeting his parents still made her anxious. She worried they might not accept her or think she wasn’t good enough for him.
Even so, she couldn’t deny that she had been looking forward to that day.
Ever since they had registered their marriage, she had quietly wondered when Zachary would introduce her to his extended family. Still, she never wanted to pressure him.
Although they were already husband and wife, they had only known each other for less than two months, and she respected that some things might take time.
Just as she was about to ask where they were going, Zachary lifted a brow and smiled.
"My wife, why are you staring at me like that?" he asked teasingly. "Don’t you want to go out with me?"
Sienna quickly shook her head.
"Of course I do." She smiled warmly before asking, "Is Skylar coming with us?"
She only wanted to make sure. If they were visiting his family, it would make sense for Zachary to bring their son along as well.
"No." Zachary slowly leaned closer until his forehead rested gently against hers. "Only the two of us."
His voice softened as he looked into her eyes.
"I want to go on a date with you."
Warmth instantly spread across her cheeks beneath his affectionate gaze. "A date?"
He nodded, the gentle smile on his face making him look even more handsome.
"Okay." She laughed softly. "I’ll make sure to become your prettiest date today, Mr. Sterling."
As she giggled in his arms, Zachary pulled her closer.
"Sienna," he said gently, "let’s have another baby. This time, we’ll do it the right way."
Skylar walked inside, looking adorable in his comfortable home clothes, completely ready to start his day. His curious eyes moved from his mother to his father before he dramatically shook his head, as though he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
His parents were still sitting on the bed, even though it was already past eight in the morning.
"Breakfast..." Skylar announced with obvious disappointment. "Why are you two still in bed? It’s already past eight."
Sienna instantly forgot everything Zachary had just said about having a second baby.
She quickly pushed the blanket aside, climbed out of bed, and walked over to her son, leaving Zachary sitting behind her with nothing more than a helpless smile.
Stopping in front of Skylar, she crouched to his eye level before gently taking his little hand in hers and giving it a soft squeeze.
"Sweetheart, I’m sorry," she said with an apologetic smile. "We completely forgot. Have you already eaten breakfast?"
Skylar nodded proudly. "Yes. I’m done, and I ate a lot too."
"Good boy." Sienna smiled as she affectionately brushed a few strands of hair away from his forehead.
"And I was just about to start my morning class," Skylar added softly. "Mom, you should go eat breakfast. You must be hungry."
Her heart melted at his thoughtfulness.
"Okay, sweetheart." She smiled warmly. "Have fun in class. I’ll accompany you to your piano lesson later."
"Yes, Mom."
Skylar nodded before turning to look at Zachary.
"Daddy," he said with all the seriousness a little boy could manage, "please don’t make my mommy hungry."
For a moment, Zachary was completely caught off guard by his son’s unexpected scolding. Then he chuckled quietly and nodded in surrender.
"I won’t. Have fun with your class, buddy."
