The Billionaire's Accidental Bride (Emma and Eric) novel Chapter 66

Chapter 66

The faint smile on Ava’s face instantly vanished.

Elias saw Ava’s expression turn cold, and he immediately snapped out of it.

I stood expressionless on the side, not saying a word.

I had figured it out. Lukas’s friend was a flirtatious person. I never expected that he would set his sights on Ava.

ias decided to leave while things were still under control. He blinked at Ava, “I’ll come to see you again later.”

As Elias left, I looked at Ava and said, “Ava, I just talked to Senior on the phone. After we finish work this afternoon, we’ll come over to see you. Take good care of yourself and ignore Elias. I can see through him.”

Ava glanced at me, “I can see through him too. Don’t worry. I only have feelings for Cole Harris.”

I looked at her with mixed feelings, “It’s good that you know. And don’t call him Harris anymore. Cole Harris no longer exists in this world. There’s only Cole Hopkins. Do you understand?”

Ava nodded, “Sophia, I understand.”

After I tidied up the blanket for Ava, I left.

As soon as I arrived at the parking lot, I saw Lukas standing not far away, popping a mint candy into

his mouth.

He saw me and his eyes flickered, “Get in the car, I’ll drive you back to the company.”

I hesitated. I didn’t dare to assume that Lukas was waiting here specifically to drive me back to the

company.

I refused, “It’s alright. I drove here today, and I’ll be coming back in the afternoon as well.”

Lukas’s expression showed a mix of anger and annoyance. He repeated himself, “Get in the car. I don’t want to repeat myself for the third time. If you need it, I can drive you back in the afternoon

too.”

I quickly shook my head, “Really, there’s no need, Mr Strakovski.”

Unspoken Farewell at 30,000 Feet

Lukas’s face darkened, “I have something to talk to you about.

He finished speaking and opened the car door, placing his hand on the door.

Hearing his words, I seemed to understand something. I immediately spoke seriously, “Mi Strakovski, I know what you want to say. Don’t worry, today’s events were just a coincidence. I won’t consider it as fate bringing us together from a thousand miles away, nor will I entertain any inappropriate thoughts about us being destined for each other.”

Lukas’s handsome face turned pale, his voice through gritted teeth, “It’s not that I wanted to talk with you about.”

1 looked a bit confused, “Then what did you want to say?”

Lukas glared at me with a cold face but remained silent.

I stood still for a few seconds, feeling overwhelmed by Laikas’s gaze. I decided to walk towards the

car.

After all, I had ridden in his car before, so there was nothing to be afraid of.

Lukas finally snorted and closed the car door, taking the driver’s seat.

As the car left the hospital, Laukas took a long time before speaking. “When did you meet Anthony?”

I answered truthfully, “Today.”

Lukas sneered sarcastically, “You meet someone today, and suddenly, you’re on such good terms with them. Your relationships seem to progress by leaps and bounds in such a short amount of time.”

My internal alarm bells rang loudly, and I quickly looked at Lukas, “Rest assured, Mr Strakovski. No matter how fast my relationship progresses with anyone, when it comes to you, I will ensure maintain the most basic boundaries and not make you uncomfortable.”

Lukas’s face turned as dark as squid ink. “Where did you get that?”

“What do you mean, then?” I furrowed my brows, a little puzzled by Lukas’s words.

Lukas struggled to stay calm and not argue with this woman. “It’s best for you keep your distance from him. Don’t let others catch the both of you and spread that you knew Anthony before and collaborated to frame Bella. Do you understand?”

I was momentarily stunned, and then it all clicked in my mind.

I hadn’t thought of this possibility before, but considering the vivid imagination of some journalists, it was indeed possible.

I quickly nodded, “Rest assured, Mr Strakovski, I will be careful and not give anyone a handle.”

Lukas was fi

furious. The traffic light turned red, and he stepped on the brake, turning his head to glare at me with extreme displeasure, “Can you stop with the formal speech? It sounds irritating to

my ears.”

Cole thought about what Lukas asked him to do and hesitated, “Well, since you’re new to the company and don’t have any private clients yet, I thought I’d let you know that private customizations are a crucial aspect of Strakovski Jewelry. The company values this area greatly.”

As soon as he finished speaking, I directly declined, “Senior, I appreciate your concern, but I can’t

cept your kindness. Although private customizations have strict requirements, they usually have a three month deadline. If I can’t meet the company’s standards within three–month, then it means I’m not suitable for Strakovski Jewelry, or maybe I’m not competent enough for this position.”

Third POV

As Sophia left, Cole sighed helplessly and called Lukas.

“Lukas, I just t spoke with Sophia about helping her with private clients, but she declined without hesitation,” Cole said.

Lukas’s hand paused while signing the documents, “Did you tell her it was my idea?”

Cole shook his head, “No, I said it was my personal idea.”

He had anticipated that Sophia would refuse.

the phone, Lukas’s tone was emotionless, “It seems like you understand her well, knowing she

wouldn’t accept it.”

Earlier in the morning, Lukas had told Cole that Sophin wouldn’t accept help from others due to her personality

Cole couldn’t comprehend Lukas’s attitude and quickly shook his head, “It’s not that I understand her, but based on past experiences, she always refuses help, so I guessed as much.”

Lukas responded with, “Train her well. Her talent in designing is not bad. That’s all.” After that, he hung up.

Cole’s palms felt a little sweaty, Sophia was clearly assigned to Strakovski Jewelry Design Department by Lukas himself.

However, Lukas’s attitude towards Sophia was somewhat strange, and Cole couldn’t figure out his

intentions.

He only sighed helplessly.

Sophia POV

In the afternoon, after work, Cole and I walked downstaller. Just as we arrived at the

parking lot, Lukas’s car pulled up and parked right next to Cole’s car.

Lukas rolled down the window, “Sophia, get in the car. I’ll take you to the hospital.”

I was startled, then I remembered that Lukas had said he would take me in the afternoon.

I quickly shook my head, “Mr Strakovski, It’s not necessary. Director Hopkins is going to the hospital to see Ava, and he’s kindly giving me a ride.”

Lukas furrowed his brows, “I said I’d take you this morning.”

He didn’t like it when things were arranged and then changed midway.
