My eyes flickered. “Yes, I know. You talked to me about this earlier on the phone, right?” I said

calmly.

Hugo nodded in satisfaction.

During the press conference…

Hugo sat beside me, looking dignified. “Everyone, please settle down. Now, we would like to clarify the entertainment rumors circulating from this morning. At that time, I was just accompanying a friend to the Civil Affairs Bureau. It wasn’t what you all speculated that I went to register with someone else.”

“My relationship with Sophia has always been good, and I hope you won’t make baseless assumptions and speculations in the future to destroy my relationship with her. Otherwise, I will take legal measures to protect our rights and interests. Now, you may start asking us questions!”

Immediately, the reporters jumped in to start asking questions, raising their microphones and cameras in the process.

“Excuse me, Miss Roberts. Do you believe Mr. Joseph’s explanation? Could it be, as the Internet

suggests, that Mr. Joseph has always been two–timing you, and you’re not aware of any of this?” One reporter asked me1.

I looked at the reporter and chose to smile slightly for the sake of my next plan. “My relationship

with Hugo has always been good. I believe him, and he has explained it to me. He was merely

helping a college friend’s girlfriend, out of humanitarian reasons. I hope everyone can trust him.” I

responded.

After the press conference, me and Hugo Roberts appeared before the public as a loving couple whose relationship cannot be wavered by a baseless rumor.

When the conference ended, I got up and suddenly spotted Mr. Strakovski’s assistant, who had

infiltrated the crowd of reporters.

My heart skipped a beat. I had just put on an act of affection with Hugo in front of the media. Hopefully, it won’t make him unhappy!

After the conference, I headed to the design department to continue my work on a draft. Halfway

through the process, Hugo called me to ask for a design draft. As I am preparing to give what he’s been asking for, I discreetly installed a pinhole camera on the button of my clothes before handing

to him.

At 7 in the evening, when Lukas’s assistant came to pick me up, I was still working on one of my design drafts.

When I received the call, I quickly went downstairs.

As I opened the car door, I saw Lukas sitting in the back seat, looking like a Greek god.

I was momentarily stunned but quickly got to my senses and entered the car. “Mr. Strakovski, you’re

here!” I exclaimed.

Lukas glanced at me, his cold gaze getting a little more playful. “We will be having our wedding night tonight. Are you sure you want to keep addressing me as Mr. Strakovski all throughout the night?”

I blushed. “Then…Lukas?”

Lukas frowned slightly.

My face reddened even more. “Hubby?”

My body stiffened, and I immediately raised my head. “All of it is not true! It was just an act!” I responded, my voice tinged with resentment.

as if no one was in the same room as him.

I shook my head immediately and turned, my face now facing the wall. “No!”

As Lukas, shirtless, walked toward the bathroom, he suddenly turned his head, looking at me. “Are you…shy?” He playfully asked.

Unsure where my courage came from, I straightened my back and faced him, blushing fiercely. “I’m

not!” I exclaimed.

Lukas teased, “Then why is your face so red if you’re not shy?”

I blushed even more, feeling flustered!

At that moment, Lukas’s phone suddenly rang, breaking the playful atmosphere. He glanced at the phone and saw that it was a call from Emily.

Frowning slightly, he said, “I’ll go out for a moment.”

I was stunned. Was Lukas…annoyed?

But then it made sense. He has all the right to be annoyed. I was the one who suggested that they should get their marriage certificate, finding a way out for myself. Now that they were officially husband and wife, Lukas had mentioned fulfilling their marital duties.

Thus, acting so hesitant now would definitely make him annoyed!
