Chapter 98
Third Person POV
Had to postpone our plan, Alpha Drake is on important business, we’ll have to turn over Raven after the wedding. Don’t worry, I have a plan.
Marissa scowled as she put her phone back in her pocket. She wasn’t sure if she believed her mother’s text but right now, she couldn’t get hold of her. She pouted, glancing sidelong at Hades who was staring fixedly out the window on the way back to the pack. He’d abandoned her in the restaurant leaving her pissed. All her efforts to win him over had ended up in smoke. What the hell did she have to do in order to get him to look at her? She’d hoped he would visit her hotel room but that had been in vain.
Important business my ass, she thought seething.
“Hades, the wedding is soon, how about we mark each other and get that out of the way,” she murmured, putting a seductive hand on his thigh as he slowly turned his head to regard her, his eyes so icy she immediately yanked it back.
She could feel the temperature drop a couple of degrees from that look alone. She didn’t understand his reluctance and his stubborness or maybe she just didn’t want to acknowledge the reality between them. That no matter how much she felt for him, even loved him, he felt nothing for her.
“I don’t like being touched. The marking waits until the wedding ceremony” he said tightly, reminding her once again that he would not be persuaded.
She burst into tears. “Why do you despise me so much?” she blubbered, ruining her makeup as he stiffened, “all I want to do is please you. What do I have to do to make you like me, even just a little?” her voice craked with emotion, honest and raw.
He cringed, avoiding her eyes, clenching his jaw and breathing deeply in order to keep his cool. She didn’t deserve his anger when it was nothing to do with her and more to do with his forbidden feelings
He was silent for a long time. It was impossible to tell what he was thinking. She waited, still sobbing, looking pitiful Something seemed to register with him because he finally gave a tight nod
“Very well, let’s try something,” he said slowly, turning sideways to look at her as she frowned confused
Why did he sound so reluctant or hesitant? What exactly was he planning to do? She held her breath. feeling butterflies in her chest and her stomach beginnning to churn with anticipation
He moved closer so that they were practically touching lips. He hesitated. She felt butterflies in her stomach, felt her heart beginning to race. She held her breath. He kissed her. His lips pressed against her, gently. He took his time, paring her lips and running his tongue along them. She moaned, trying to encourage him to go further, to put his tongue fully in her mouth but he pulled away. She felt her body go hot. She touched her lips; her eyes filled with awe. Finally, she’d managed to make progress with him, no matter how small it was. That kiss had been phenomanal and she knew he’d felt that too.
“Does that satisfy you?” he said, his voice raspy.
