I feel ashamed. Aeress sobs, still holding onto me. “Oh honey, why didn’t you say anything?”

“Hades donated his blood to me. The whip marks and scars are gone. You can’t see them anymore,” my voice is bleak.

I want to pretend it never happened. I want to pretend I was never that weak, pitiful creature because in my mind, I wasn’t anymore.

“Let me tell my brother. Before he marries Marissa,” Aeress is trying to pull out her phone.

I seize her hand. “No,” I said, breathing heavily, “don’t. I’m already taking my revenge on her. If you inform Hades, she’ll probably run for the hills. I don’t want that. I want to finish what I’ve started.”

I had to.

“We can help you,” Damien offers, “whatever you need.”

“Thankyou but I can do this myself. You’ve given me enough, you’ve given me the family I’ve always wanted,” I whispered, “that is, if you accept me?”

I held my breath, unable to hold back the small spark of hope kindling inside of me.

Damien seized me in a bear hug. “Of course, we accept you, you’re one of us. No matter what, the Shadow Pack will always be behind you now. You could live with us,” he trailed off, “but then you wouldn’t be able to get your revenge, would you?”

He’s forced to let go as my father hugs me, picking me up and holding me so tight I can’t breathe. Damien has to tap on his shoulder to get him to loosen his grip.

“Count on it. I’ll keep in touch too. I won’t disappear, I promise. You can’t imagine how happy I am to have found you.”

My voice breaks with raw emotion. I’m exhausted, drained, and yet so happy that I can’t control the smile on my face.

“Keep safe sis,” Damien’s voice is husky as the limousine begins to take off with Aeress and I inside it, and if anything happens contact us. Don’t let yourself get caught,” he added as I looked out the window behind me, their figures growing smaller in the distance, “and know that we love you,” he shouted out with pride.

“You better fill me in on your plan to ruin Marissa because I’m going to beat her ass black and blue otherwise,” Aeress threatened beside me, still overwhelmed by today’s events, “and I’m not kidding, Raven. Tell me everything, or I’ll confront her and make her pay myself.”

I knew she meant every word she spoke, her body practically vibrating with hidden anger. I nodded, accepting that this time, I was going to have to divulge every little detail, including what I had planned for her brother.
