Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 54

Chapter 54

Hades POV

“Great, both drivers are dead,” Aeress moaned, sitting dejectedly inside one of the limousines, her arms folded sulkily across her chest. “Not to mention they blew out the tires, so we can’t drive ourselves back to the pack house.”

She made it sound as though there were no other options to get back. I fought back a smile, knowing she was only tired from our ordeal.

“Stop acting as though it’s the end of the world,” Jackson commented with a small smile, “we can just run back. It’s a little bit of a distance, but we have gone longer stretches than this. This is nothing,” he said carefree, “and the most important thing is that everybody is alright.”

He was right. Things could have gone much, much worse. Raven could have been killed, I thought darkly, still struggling to let that go.

“Raven can’t shift,” Aeress pointed out, glancing at me and shuddering, “and she’s covered in blood.”

“Yeah, but it’s not mine,” Raven said calmly, even though she looked like fucking Carrie from the horror movie.

“I still can’t believe you cut off that man’s dick,” Aeress groaned, “I thought you were all sweet and innocent, Raven, but you were lying to me! You’re a she devil and I couldn’t be prouder,” she said, winking at a very taken aback Raven and dissolving into giggles.

“I thought I had put you off me,” Raven sounded shocked, “acting like that. Aren’t you afraid of me now?”

her voice went meek.

Besides, hell would freeze over first before I let Jackson touch her, but there was no way I was going to admit that, let alone say those words out loud.

“Come on, sweetheart,” Jackson moves a little distance away, pulling Aeress with him.

She sighs and lets him, too exhausted to argue.

Finally, my sister is quiet. I look towards the heavens, feeling grateful.

I shift and get down on my stomach. Raven hesitates. She moves closer, her hand pressing against my side, feeling the softness of my fur. She climbs on, her knees pressed against my sides, her hand clutching my fur. I get to my feet and look to Jackson for confirmation, Aeress also on his back and gripping him tightly. He nods. We take off.

We run. The wind blows through my fur. It’s cold, another reason I want to get home quickly, aware that Raven is wearing a dress, doing little to prevent her from feeling the chill in the air, and Aeress has nothing on at all because her dress had torn when she shifted.
