Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 117

Chapter 117

“Open the door,” I shouted out loud, “now. I swear to God…” my voice trails off as the door suddenly bursts wide open.

Well, that was easier than I thought it was going to be. I blinked, surprised by the sight in front of me, Hades looking a little off, not like his usual confident self.

“Raven,” his voice is raspy, and he’s pulling on his shirt, his face slightly red, his eyes glazed. “You should go”

His voice is harsh. I flinch but refuse to back down.

“Where is she?” I step into the room, blatantly ignoring him.

“Who?” he sounds bewildered, tugging at the collar on his shirt, his voice rather weak and surprisingly faint.

“Marissa,” I said, confused.

I can see the table set up, see the remnants of food on both plates. I glance around, but there’s no sign of Marissa. Had I overreacted? Had I let my own feelings for Hades convince me that something was happening when it wasn’t?

Hades eyes swing to Jackson and Aeress in the doorway. “Leave,” he orders, his voice hoarse. “Now,” he commands, coming close to using his Alpha tone, the first time I’ve heard him even come remotely close to doing

that.

He roughly undoes his buttons, the buttons tinkering to the floor. He’s impatient, yanking his shirt off and flinging it to the floor. He steps out of his shoes, exhaling. Not once has his eyes left mine.

I feel my breath hitch. He’s glorious. I can see the six pack, see the muscles rippling as he moves. I’ve never seen something so beautiful. He’s like a piece of art. My mouth goes dry, my knees shaking together.

“I need you,” he breathed, coming towards me as I stood there paralysed, “I need you, Raven,” he pleaded thickly, “Help me.”

He grabbed me by the arms and kissed me, instantly spreading heat through my body. Suddenly, I realized exactly what had happened. Marissa had drugged him, given him some sort of aphrodisiac that worked on shifters. No wonder he was acting so strange. Now I knew exactly how to help him, but would I regret this in the morning? Would he even remember this? I can’t bring myself to deny him, though, deny this chance to be with him, wanting nothing more than to have this moment with him, no matter the circumstances.

I kissed him back, and just like that, it was as though an inferno erupted, his hands swooping me up and almost tossing me onto the bed in his fervour. I swallowed hard, watching as he began to undo the zipper on his pants and tear the rest of his clothes off. Something told me I was in for it and if I wanted out, it was now or never. I refused to leave. It might be my undoing, but God help me, I loved this man and I would do anything in my power to help him, even if it meant hurting myself for his sake.
