Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 68

“So, we’re going to be… living together?”

Bianca shot him a look, flustered but stern. “Don’t get any ideas.

“Living together doesn’t mean… sleeping together. I’m… not ready for that.”

Steven felt that hit land squarely.

He could feel it clearly–he’d just been dealt another devastating blow.

Oh? So Bianca’s threshold for acceptance was actually that high?

“Ahem! Right, we’ll head home later and talk to Grandpa and your mom. We just need to grab some clothes -this place has everything else.”

Bianca ducked her head shyly and gave a soft hum of agreement.

Steven was practically vibrating.

He was about to start a cohabitation arc with the Ember Eternal herself. Heh heh!

They explored the rest of the rooms, then headed for the door.

But first, they checked the garage.

Steven’s eyes lit up like Christmas morning.

One vehicle was an A–rank origin–powered low–altitude four–person armored vehicle–perfect for team

missions.

The other was an A–rank origin–powered single–rider armored combat motorcycle that could transform into a full–body battle suit.

Steven’s heart was racing.

Even in his previous life, he’d never gotten his hands on gear like this.

And in this life–not to put too fine a point on it–by riding the coattails of his future Ember Eternal wife, he’d gotten it all handed to him on a silver platter.

What was hers would eventually be his, right?

Steven grinned like an idiot.

Bianca asked, “Should we drive back?

Steven laughed ruefully. “No origin crystals. These two vehicles burn through them like crazy. We’ll probably have to wait until you enroll and the academy supplies you with crystals before we can actually use them.”

Bianca nodded. “Then, let’s just walk back the way we came.”

Steven agreed with a smile. As excited as he was, there was no rush.

They left the villa. Soon, this place would be their home.

Bianca fell a step behind Steven. In her heart, she knew that everything she had right now was because of him.

Her eyes softened into crescents. This was going to be their cozy little nest.

What if he tried something inappropriate?

Should shelet him?

Idiot. He didn’t even know how to hold hands.

The neighborhood was full of villas, and people were out walking.

That was when-

A surprised voice called out.

“Hey–Steven? Bianca!”

They both turned. Coming down a side path was a woman in a green dress, her figure striking.

Steven blinked in recognition. “You’re the girl who cried her lungs out for Peter back then!”

Darlene stared at him.

Seriously?

She gave him a withering look. “Cry? My name is Darlene. Call me Darlene.”

Steven grinned sheepishly. “Darlene.”

They arrived at the thirty–something floor of the high–rise.

The apartment was genuinely impressive–spacious, well–furnished, with its own AI butler, though it was clearly a lower–tier model than Echo.

Peter was stretched out on a recliner in front of the massive floor–to–ceiling windows.

His chest was still bandaged. The wound was clearly going to take a while.

Steven made himself right at home.

“Hey there, Peter. Enjoying the view?”

Peter whipped around. The instant he saw Steven and Bianca, his eyes went as wide as dinner plates.

“You little punk!”

“Who are you calling a punk?”

Peter shot to his feet in shock.

Bianca offered a polite greeting. “Peter, hi.”

Peter managed an awkward grin. “Hey.”

“How’d you even find me? Who told you I was here?”

Finished

Steven smirked. “What, too embarrassed to show your face, so you’re hiding? Didn’t want me to visit?”

Peter rolled his eyes. “Would it kill you to go five seconds without roasting me?”

Darlene was genuinely surprised by how comfortable they were around each other. They were already this close?
