Chapter 413 James’s Revenge

“I think that kid was just a reckless idiot.”

Alex fell silent for a moment.

If that kid had not pulled up that spirit fruit, they might have been the ones in trouble.

That beast had clearly been targeting them.

Dark fury flickered in Beckett’s eyes.

“Captain Alex, we can’t just let this go. That meteorite shard is definitely worth more than a billion.”

Alex’s face darkened. Of course they could not let this go.

No one had ever taken something from Soulreaver and gotten away with it!

William, the vice–captain standing beside him, spoke up. “Did you notice that guy who was fighting alone earlier?”

Alex looked at him.

William continued, “He looked a lot like him… and the information from Nebula Squad confirmed that he was indeed in this area…”

Alex nodded coldly. “It was him.”

William said, “Then that kid was probably one of Ashen’s members. He’s the only one crazy enough to bring a bunch of nobodies into a place like this.”

Alex turned and looked in the direction Alan had charged off toward.

Then he took the lead and rushed forward.

Beckett let out a cold laugh as the other nine members quickly followed. They turned back once again and charged into the beast horde, like a terrifying blade carving a path straight through the enemy.

Steven sensed that the Skyreach Serpent was still relentlessly chasing him and frowned. This thing just wouldn’t quit…

“Captain Greenwood, how’s your situation over there?”

“I’m heading toward them right now. Our communication signal has probably been cut off. Be careful. Shake off the Skyreach Serpent as quickly as possible. The scent of the spirit fruit will keep it tracking you. Figure out a way to erase the scent on your body.”

Steven was slightly shocked. “Captain Greenwood, how did you know I picked the spirit fruit?”

Alan did not explain. He was slaughtering beasts while moving forward at top speed.

Steven had no time to worry about it.

He needed to find a way to erase the spirit fruit’s scent. If he returned like this, he would only bring danger to everyone else.

But how was he supposed to get rid of it?

The next second, blazing flares erupted from Steven’s body.

Yet the Skyreach Serpent continued its relentless pursuit. It remained locked onto him from the ground below as it rampaged forward without restraint.

The land behind it had been left in ruins.

Steven frowned.

From time to time, he also had to dodge the energy blasts the Skyreach Serpent spat at him.

“It didn’t work!”

Steven was somewhat surprised. The power of his Wind–Fire Divine Sigil could not erase the lingering energy of the spirit fruit.

Was it because his own power was still too weak?

Suddenly, inspiration struck him.

The Aether Flame Seal!

Sensing the tiny flame within his Divine Sigil, Steven began channeling his power into it.

In an instant, after being infused with energy, the little flame emerged from his body.

At that moment, he clearly sensed that his fire power had become extraordinarily stronger after receiving the enhancement of the Bloodsun Flame. Both its destructive force and temperature had undergone significant changes.

“So this is how forbidden techniques enhance power…”

Steven let out a laugh. “Have fun by yourself.”

The Skyreach Serpent roared furiously at the sky, but it could no longer find any trace of Steven.

When it crashed back to the ground, it was like an earthquake. It spun around in place, enraged beyond reason, and began slaughtering nearby beasts.

All he could do was increase his speed and rush toward their location.

Olivia looked at James and his group standing outside the Quantum Barrier.

James’s expression was dark.

Olivia, Edric, Bianca, and Fiona stood at the front.

Olivia shouted coldly, “James, you’d better think this through. If you make a move, Captain Greenwood will kill every single one of you!”

A cold look appeared on James’s face. His younger brother’s corpse was still inside his Spatial Converter.

Right now was the perfect chance for revenge.

One of James’s teammates quickly tried to stop him from acting impulsively. “Captain Thompson, don’t do anything rash. We can’t touch Olivia either…”

James burned with rage.

But he had nowhere to vent it.

Captain Thompson, let’s just go. Those beasts will be here soon. Let them fend for themselves. Once the beasts surround them, if Alan doesn’t come back, they’ll die anyway!”

James took a long look at Olivia and the others. “This isn’t over. I will make Alan pay for my brother’s death.”

James felt utterly frustrated and humiliated.
