Steven and Alan exchanged a look.

They both gave a slight nod.

In the next second, S–rank origin–energy wings unfurled behind Steven.

The two of them shot straight into the sky.

Peter and the others watched with undisguised envy.

Peter let out a breath. “Vice Captain got there fast. He can already fight alongside Captain Alan…”

The A–rank members felt a complicated mix of emotions hearing that. Right now, it felt like all they could do was hold the team back.

Edric said, “Let’s move. Don’t leave Captain Alan worrying about us. Olivia, find a suitable location!”

Steven rose higher into the sky.

Below him, Moonclear Lake stretched out, vast and still.

High–level beasts circled faintly in the air.

He quickly located the battlefield.

Seven level 5 beasts were colliding violently, all fighting over the meteorite fragment.

This was Ruinstar Metal!

Steven’s breath grew unsteady.

A–rank battle armor and weapons were worth tens of millions of divine crystals. S–rank battle armor easily broke into the hundreds of millions.

Steven let out a quiet snort.

Just as he turned his gaze back toward the battlefield of the level 5 beasts, his eyes caught sight of a small island on Moonclear Lake.

His expression tightened, then slowly shifted to shock.

“What a terrifying aura…”

The entire island felt like a bomb on the verge of detonation, radiating an oppressive presence that made/ his skin crawl.

Steven focused his vision on it.

In just an instant, his breathing turned ragged.

“Damn it. So that’s where it went…”

Staring at the massive form hidden beneath the water on the far side of the island, fear surged through him.

A level 6 Skyreach Serpent!

It was coiled beneath the surface, lurking along the edge of the island.
