Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 388

Chapter 388 Operation Starfall

“Fiona, your blade’s too slow. What are you hesitating for?” Steven snapped coldly.

Fiona stiffened like a nervous schoolkid and focused even harder.

“Nicole, your footwork’s lagging. You need to cut angles faster! Faster!”

Under Steven’s sharp calls, the three of them fought at full strength.

Peter grinned. “Vice Captain, now that’s favoritism. You’re not gonna yell at your own girlfriend even once? Bianca’s gonna get upset, you know.”

Danny chimed in, “He just doesn’t have the heart to say it.”

The others struggled to hold back their laughter.

Steven turned to them. “You itching for a beating? Want to spar?”

Danny waved both hands and backed off.

“No, thanks. You’re too strong. I’m not fighting you.”

Steven looked at Peter.

Peter curled his lips. “You didn’t say anything to Bianca. That’s favoritism. Not a good look.”

Everyone turned to look at Steven.

Steven shook his head. “Bianca has flaws, but she doesn’t need me to point them out. One exchange, and she spots the issue herself. Next move, she fixes it.

“I’ve never seen that before.

“Maybe you’re right. Maybe she’ll end up a Martial Master one day.

“I’ve never met anyone this talented, and she just happens to be my girlfriend.”

Everyone froze for a second.

“Damn it, he’s bragging about his girlfriend!”

“Get lost. I’m not sitting through this!

“You’ve been showing off this whole trip. Peter, you and Darlene should do something to shut them up.”

Steven smirked.

“You asked for it.”

Peter ground his teeth.

“You little punk. Fine, you win! Hmph!”

Steven laughed.

The fight on the other side wrapped up.

Bianca ran over to Steven, all bright and cheerful, making the others grit their teeth.

“Steven, what about me? What did I do wrong?

He flicked her nose. “Nothing. And didn’t you already fix it on your own?”

Peter and the others clenched their teeth. They couldn’t take it anymore.

Alan said calmly, “Keep moving.”

Operation Starfall?

A weapon that pushed right up against true Divine Weapon level, unmatched in offense, able to tear through Srank battle armor with ease. It caused a massive stir.

Alan looked at Olivia.

“Where is it?”

Alan thought for a moment.

“Details.”

Olivia continued, “Two nights ago, meteorites fell. The projected impact zone was east of Moonclear Lake.

“But they broke apart in the stratosphere and scattered everywhere.

“We’ll have to search for fragments.

“The military must have recovered samples and identified it as a rare forging material. That’s why the reward is so high.”

“That area’s close to Moonclear Lake, so there are a lot of beast swarms. It’s difficult and dangerous to search, or the military wouldn’t have issued the mission like this.”

Alan nodded and looked at her. “What do you think?”

Olivia glanced at the others.

“Last time, we got a forging method from the Celestial Core. If we can collect some fragments, we might be able to upgrade everyone’s gear.

“Anything the military values this much usually has special properties. It could be extremely useful for us.

“Buying something like that would cost a fortune.”

Alan nodded, then turned to Steven.

“What’s your take?”

Everyone looked at Steven. As vice captain, his opinion carried weight.

Steven considered it.

“If we go, it’ll be extremely dangerous. Moonclear Lake is already a beast hotspot. If we start searching for meteorites, we should be ready for full–scale combat. The risk level jumps straight to maximum.”
