Hope fell silent for a moment. Her maturity made her understand that kindness like this was not something that could easily be repaid.
Bianca didn’t know how to comfort her.
Steven looked at Hope.
Then, he softly asked, “Do you know why we’re helping you so much?”
With reddened eyes, Hope looked up at him. Confusion flickered in her clear gaze.
Steven spoke gently, “First of all, what happened yesterday happened because of us. You got hurt because of it, so it’s our responsibility.
“Second… there was once a girl who was a lot like you. She had a hard life when she was young too. It was just her and her mother, relying on each other.
“You’re like her back then. We’re not doing this for any other reason. She just doesn’t want the girl she used to be to keep suffering like this.”
Tears glimmered in Hope’s eyes as she looked toward Bianca.
Bianca’s eyes were red as well as she gazed at Steven’s gentle profile.
Just as she had said before, all suffering would eventually leave them behind.
Her life had always been difficult, but she had gritted her teeth and endured it all. Fortunately, at the end of that hardship, Steven had appeared. He understood her pain and gave her warmth.
This time, she wanted to be the person who brought light to someone else. She had stood in the rain before, so she didn’t want more people to have to stand in that same rain. She wanted to hold up an umbrella for Hope.
And she was grateful that Steven understood every little detail of her heart.
Meeting him really was the greatest stroke of luck in her life.
Around four in the afternoon, Steven and Bianca prepared to return to the Academy.
Before leaving, Steven looked at Brian.
“Grandpa, you should be a little careful too.”
Brian nodded. “Don’t worry. I’m just an old man. Nothing will happen to me. Mr. Browning will protect me.”
“You just worry about yourself.”
Steven nodded.

Right now, he was the dangerous factor. Perhaps staying away from Brian and the others would actual be safer for them. After all, the Reads‘ target was him.
With Jensen’s people watching over Brian, he should be safe. Meanwhile, Steven needed to seize every moment to evolve.
Suddenly, Brian said, “Remember this. Give them back exactly what they give you!”
Steven repeated the words under his breath before nodding. “Grandpa, I’ll remember.”
Vanessa’s face was filled with concern.
“My dear, Steven, you both have to be extremely careful.”
Bianca nodded. “Mom, we’ll be careful.”
Steven smiled. “Vanessa, don’t worry. We’ll be fine. We will entrust Hope with you for a little while.”
Vanessa nodded. “Don’t worry about that.”
Only then did the two leave in their armored car.
The Academy wasn’t particularly important to Steven anymore.
However, it was still important for Bianca.
The Academy’s hunting ground could improve her combat experience.
And many of the Academy’s instructors could offer valuable guidance.
Training was still necessary.
The Reads wouldn’t target Bianca, while Steven intended to draw all of the Reads‘ attention toward the city
center.
At the same time, he also needed to take advantage of this opportunity to evolve as quickly as possible.
By the time they arrived outside their villa, it was already close to five o’clock.
Well, that was fast.
What he hadn’t expected was to see someone standing outside the villa.

The team needed her…
She nodded before saying, “This month, I advanced one level and learned a new level 5 saber art. Give me some pointers.”
Steven nodded. “Sure.
“Bianca, you’re coming too. I’ll check both of your progress this month.”
The two girls nodded.
Together, they entered the combat chamber.
Fiona couldn’t help asking one more question.
“You can completely overpower a Three–Sigil Divine Adept now?”
Steven glanced at her.
“Spencer and the others were only level 22 and level 23. It’s not that impressive.”
Fiona fell silent.
She was roughly on the same level as Spencer and the others.
Which meant one thing–She truly was no longer Steven’s match.
Steven asked, “Olivia didn’t tell you about my situation, eh?”

Fiona froze. “What situation?”
Steven looked at the girl before him. Even when expressing confusion, she still looked like an iceberg.
