Chapter 265 Flames in the Dark
Finished
Steven’s killing power was undeniable, and his Eye of Insight let him dodge a tremendous amount of incoming damage.
But when the damage was coming from every direction at once, with no gaps left to exploit, no amount of evasion could save him.
Thanks to Lars’s special attention, the level 3 Bloodmoon Demon Wolves on his side were particularly thick.
And their numbers were only growing.
Peter could see at least 20 or 30 of them swarming around Steven
They piled onto him in a frenzy–sheer mass alone would have been enough to crush him.
Peter’s eyes were shot through with red. “Steven!”
He wanted to go help.
“Steven!”
“Mr. Fisher!”
The team was on the verge of collapse.
Olivia and Darlene had tears streaming down their faces. Is there really no end to this?
Steven roared, “Don’t worry about me!
“Wind! Fire! Sky! Fall!
“Get back!”
The beast swarm surged over Steven, burying him completely.
He disappeared beneath the pile.
But a heartbeat later.
Torrents of flame erupted from the gaps between the beasts, as though a furnace had detonated from
within.
The level 3 Bloodmoon Wolves were blown sky–high by the blast of fire.
The ones closest to the center were incinerated to charcoal on the spot
An entire section of the battlefield was cleared in a single burst.
Everyone breathed again.

Chapter 265 Temes in the Dark
Steven resumed his rampage, shouting as he fought. “Don’t worry about me!”
But they were all running on empty.
Nobody could hold out much longer.
One by one, teammates were sent flying backward, coughing blood.
Finished”
Tank went down again. His chest plate was shredded, and deep claw marks scored his torso, leaving horrific wounds behind.
“Tank!”
Before anyone could react.
Louie’s dual blades shattered in his hands.
An Earth Demon Bear swatted him so hard he vomited blood and went tumbling back through the Divine Barrier.
“Louie!”
Peter and Uriah couldn’t hold either.
Peter was drenched head to toe in his own blood.
Uriah coughed up a mouthful and grabbed Peter, hurling him back through the Barrier.
“Uriah!”
Peter’s eyes were about to burst from their sockets/
Uriah managed a broken smile.
“My turn.”
“You son of a bitch–if you make it out of this alive, you’d better marry Darlene, or I swear I’ll haunt you from the grave!”
Uriah let out a battle cry and charged back into the fray.
“Uriah!”
“Uriah!”
Uriah triggered the Divine Rite.
He was buying the team its last few seconds.
But there were too many beasts.
Sky Leopards and Phantom Moon Foxes swarmed him, drowning him in an instant.

The despair in his chest was suffocating. Was it really going to end the same way–the same nightmare from his vision?
Finished
One by une: they swayed on the edge of collapse, yet somehow dragged themselves back to their feet.
They stood together.
As though they’d already made peace with death.
Blood Wolf’s side was the same, along with what remained of the other squads.
Every face held the same grim resolve.
The Surveillants and assassination units had burned through all their origin crystals. They drew their sidearms for the final fight.
The beasts were tearing the Divine Barrier apart.
Olivia stared through tear–blurred eyes toward where Alan was fighting.
Alan had cut down untold numbers of level 4 beasts and killed several Four–Sigil God Eaters along the
way.
The Bloodmoon Demon Wolf was faltering, but it still needed time to finish off.
Sebastian pulled out a metal sphere.
“Damn it. I was saving this for the fox. Guess we’re burning it now.”
Olivia likewise produced an origin crystal weapon of last resort from her reserves–a metal lotus.
Sebastian saw it and laughed wildly. “So what if we die? Let’s make sure we take enough of them with us first!
“Olivia, you take that side. I’ve got this one.”
Olivia nodded.
These were their final trump cards, originally saved for a breakout attempt.
But there was no breakout to attempt anymore.
If they didn’t use them now, they might never get the chance.
Peter slammed the butt of his spear against the ground. “Boys–next life, come find me. We’ll drink until we can’t see straight.”
Mason spat out a mouthful of bloody foam and grinned. “Next life, can you please be a little less ridiculous?”
Peter swore. “What good has being serious ever done? Next life, give me an S–rank, and I’ll carve a path through anything.”
Louie wheezed, “What a waste of my savings. If only I could find them in the next life.”
