Reborn: Apocalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side novel Chapter 215

Chapter 215 Someone Is There

Darlene rolled her eyes. “Do you think that’s even possible?”

Peter looked genuinely envious. Then where the hell did this brat get it from?”

“Who knows?”

Fisher

“Damn it, an S–rank? Do you have any idea how many divine crystals that costs? I wouldn’t even dare dream about it.” Peter muttered, utterly envious.

Everyone’s attention was drawn to Steven’s battle.

“Steven seems to have gotten stronger again…” Caleb muttered.

The others nodded.

Peter grumbled, “Does this kid have to be this anomaly freakish? Isn’t he B–rank?”

Nobody felt like responding.

They had seen powerful B–rank Awakened before, but they had never seen an absurdly strong One–Sigil Awakened.

The small–scale cleanup operation ended quickly.

Nicole and Theo picked off any beasts trying to escape/making sure none of them could alert nearby packs.

Once the fighting was over, everyone quickly collected the beast crystals.

Then they immediately left.

As they moved forward, Peter finally couldn’t hold it in anymore.

“Kid, I’ll give you 100 thousand divine crystals. Get me an S–rank set too.”

Steven rolled his eyes. “Yeah, keep dreaming.”

Then, he explained, “I didn’t buy this. My parents left it for me.”

The group fell silent for a moment.

Peter chuckled. “Well, damn. Sounds like your parents were heavy hitters, too. No wonder you’re such

beast.”

“What kind of compliment is that? What do you mean by ‘such a beast? Is it really hard for you to just say I’m strong?” Steven shot back.

Peter laughed and didn’t care.

He was always straightforward.

Oddly enough, the exchange between the two of them eased some of the tension hanging over the group.

Everyone quickly moved away from the blood–soaked area.

They pushed through dense forest, crossed countless small swamps, and climbed over rolling hills.

The group was like a steel blade driving deep into the heart of the vast wilderness.

By around 4:00 p.m., they arrived at a peculiar location.

Everyone cautiously studied the massive rectangular “mountains” standing before them.

Olivia explained, “This used to be a city named Rustwick from 300 years ago. It was only about one–tenth the size of modern Rowenville. Back then, every city was packed with skyscrapers. Even after three centuries, you can still see traces of what once stood here.”

Staring at the countless block–shaped structures rising across the landscape, everyone felt momentarily dazed.

It was as if they could still sense the prosperity that had existed here 300 years earlier.

Alan immediately issued orders.

“Find an open area and take a short break. This place is actually very dangerous. A lot of beasts have made nests inside those old high–rises. Don’t alert them. Rest up and recover.

“Olivia, stay alert t for flying–beast attacks at all times.”

“Understood.”

Everyone nodded.

The group found a relatively open area with clear sightlines in every direction.

Olivia deployed a variety of monitoring equipment to keep watch over their surroundings.

Some people rested. Some ate.

Steven quietly surveyed the area.

It seemed that he had passed through here in his previous life.

Although he’d only rushed through it back then, the place still stirred a sense of recognition.

Peter patted Steven’s shoulder.

“Don’t be so tense. Maybe it was just a flying beast.”

But a growing sense of unease lingered in Steven’s chest.

Meanwhile, atop the vegetation–covered building, Rupert looked surprised.

He had almost been discovered.

Murderous intent filled his eyes.

He casually patted the wolf beside him–a creature whose front legs were shriveled and deformed.

“Now then, let’s have some fun with them.”

A sinister grin spread across Rupert’s face. “Buddy, your turn.”

It was a warg, standing nearly twice the height of a man.

It threw back its head and let out a howl.

A strange soundwave rippled across the area.

The next second, those crimson eyes hidden among the buildings snapped open.

Heavy footsteps echoed through the ruins. The creatures emerged from the decaying structures.

They ran faster and faster.

Those were Bloodmoon Demon Wolves with crimson eyes!
