Chapter 181 Out of His League

Olivia nodded. “Alright. I send you the location later.”

Fiona spoke up too, “I’m heading back to my place too.”

Olivia nodded.

Steven got into Fiona’s car and headed back to the central district.

That battle had changed Fiona too. For the first time, she truly understood why people respected these Awakened Squad members.

Fiona hesitated like she wanted to say something.

‘Did I hold everyone back?”

Steven glanced at her.

‘Don’t overthink it. It was your first time on a battlefield. Anyone would struggle. Just focus on improving yourself and keep training.

And remember, once we’re back at the Academy, we can’t let anyone know about our identities.”

Fiona nodded.

She dropped Steven off at the villa before heading back to her own place.

The moment Steven walked into the villa, Bianca rushed over and hugged him tightly.

Steven, are you okay?”

Bianca had been worried the whole time. After bringing Danny and the others here, she hadn’t gone back to the battlefield because she was afraid of becoming a burden to Steven. Now that she’d actually seep combat, she understood.

At her current strength, she was still way too weak.

It wasn’t enough. Not even close.

She had to become stronger.

Steven rubbed her head gently.

“Aren’t I standing here just fine?”

“But you’re covered in injuries.”

Steven smiled to himself, realizing she was completely hooked on him now

“It’s fine. Most of the damage got blocked by the armor. It’s nothing serious. Don’t worry. How’s Danny doing?”

Bianca pulled Steven over to sit down.

“He’s stable now. The medical system already closed his wounds, but he still needs another day or two to

recover.”

Right then, Darlene walked out.

She looked exhausted too. The strain had clearly taken a lot out of her.

‘Don’t worry. His life’s no longer in danger. He might end up with some lasting damage, though.”

Steven nodded. “As long as he survived, that’s enough.”

Darlene nodded too and walked over to Steven.

A soft green glow spread from her palms.

‘Darlene, you’re exhausted already.”

Darlene shook her head. “I’m fine. I’ll rest in a bit. Your injuries can’t wait.”

Steven didn’t refuse again.

The shimmering green light settled over his body, filling him with warmth.

The smaller wounds across his body started healing faster.

Everyone knew how valuable a wood–attribute healer was. In an Awakened Squad, their status was incredibly high.

Bianca looked embarrassed. “I blew up a whole section of the city. That’s probably going to cost a fortune in damages.”

12:09 pm

Darlene smiled and nodded. “You definitely will.

“Steven, hurry up and wash up. We’re heading to the dinner gathering soon. We’ll be splitting the battle rewards too. This time, we’re definitely getting a huge amount of beast crystals. You should finally upgrade your armor and weapons.”

A flicker of excitement appeared in Steven’s eyes. She was right. The amount they would receive today was probably going to be insane.

The three of them headed toward the restaurant together.

Steven suddenly asked, “Darlene, Captain Greenwood is close to evolving into a Divine General, right?”

Darlene nodded. “Yeah. Probably soon.”

Steven said, “Then he’ll finally have a shot at entering the Awakened Squad Rankings!”

Darlene gave a bitter smile. “It’s not that simple. One Divine General isn’t enough.”

She sighed softly. “Honestly, we’ve been holding Captain Greenwood back. With his strength, building an Awakened Squad made entirely of S–ranks wouldn’t be difficult at all.”

“Why?” Steven asked in confusion.

Darlene shook her head, unwilling to explain.

She only said softly, “Captain Greenwood really is a very, very good person

“Someday you, Fiona, and Edric will become his real support People like us probably won’t get that chance. So no matter what, you have to help Captain Greenwood accomplish that goal

“What goal?”

Darlene only smiled gently and shook her head. “You’ll find out eventually. If Captain Greenwood doesn’t want to talk about it, don’t ask.”

Steven nodded thoughtfully.

In his past life, he had never paid attention to Alan. Someone like that had been way out of his league.
