Reborn Aperalypse Ready. War Goddess by My Side
Chapter 163 A Step Closer to Forever
Alan thought for a moment before answering. “We’ll take the mission. It’s about time we brought the two new teammates out for some real field training.”
Olivia looked surprised.
“You really aren’t worried at all? Fiona might be fine, but Steven only just finished his Divine Awakening. And Fiona’s combat instincts still aren’t great either.”
Alan shook his head.
‘Don’t worry. Those two balance each other out pretty well. Things shouldn’t get too dangerous.”
Olivia let out a quiet sigh and stopped arguing.
When she saw the empty look in Alan’s eyes, pain flashed across her face. She couldn’t help saying one more thing.
You need to stop trapping yourself in those memories. None of that was your fault.”
Alan paused for a second. The corner of his mouth curled into a self–mocking smile.
But he said nothing. He simply turned around and walked back into his room.
Olivia’s heart ached. He used to smile so warmly.
She glanced at the closed door one last time before leaving.
Her high heels clicked against the floor, the hollow sound echoing through the villa.
The huge house felt just like Alan’s heart now. Cold. Empty. Silent.
Steven held Bianca’s soft hand as they walked through the dark campus together.
Neither of them spoke.
It felt like this was the first time they had openly walked around campus while holding hands.
Bianca could clearly hear her own heartbeat speeding up.
A shy blush spread across her pale cheeks.
She kept her head lowered, too embarrassed to look at Steven.
His fingers gently rubbed against her palm. The small, intimate touch made her whole tave feel hor
“Bianca, the calluses on your hands are almost gone now.”
Bianca snapped out of her thoughts.

“Huh? R–Really?”
Steven smiled. “Yeah. Your hands are way softer now. And you’re getting prettier too. That way your mom won’t think I’m taking bad care of you.”
Bianca’s face grew even hotter.
“Jerk,” she mumbled softly.
But a second later, she quietly asked, “Do I really… look prettier now?”
“Of course,” Steven said without hesitation. “You get prettier every day. Exactly my type.”
Bianca took several deep breaths, trying hard to calm herself down
She had to hold it together. If she fainted in front of Steven, it would be far too embarrassing. Then he would have to carry her…
Bianca suddenly froze.
That’s right! Steven carrying me actually sounded nice.
Maybe fainting would not be so bad after all.
She smiled shyly to herself.
Of course, Steven had no idea how many little thoughts were running through her head.
“Tomorrow’s Friday,” he said. “After classes end, if nothing comes up, we can stay at the villa for the night. Then we’ll head back Saturday. After that, we can stay there again over the weekend. Sound good?”
Bianca froze again.
She felt like she might die from embarrassment.
Two nights?
“O–Okay…”

She shook her head softly. “I won’t get jealous. You already told me about her, so I’m not going to overthink things.”
Steven smiled and nodded.
“You’re way too understanding. Come here. You deserve a reward.”
Bianca instantly grew shy.
Steven leaned forward and gently kissed her forehead.
Bianca was disappointed.
Just the forehead?
She lifted her head and stared at him in a daze, clearly unhappy with that reward

Steven let out a teasing laugh.
“You’re getting greedier.
Bianca’s cheeks burned bright red. She was about to lower her head again, but Steven’s warm lips suddenly landed softly on hers.
Bianca’s eyes widened.
Thump. Thump. Her heartbeat raced wildly.
Then slowly, she closed her eyes.
The moon looked especially beautiful tonight.
Steven walked all the way back to the dorm while touching his lips.
The grin on his face was impossible to hide.
He had taken another huge step toward making Ember Eternal his wife.
Late that night, just as he was about to start Beast Energy Conversion, he received a warning message from Olivia.
