Chapter 12 Write It Yourself

Nelson raised an eyebrow. “Are you crazy? Or do you have some secret weapon?”

Steven answered casually, “Just watch carefully later.”

“Steven, don’t underestimate them. Those guys were clearly planning to mess with

you today.”

“Relax. I can handle them. You head over first. Bianca and I will come in a minute.”

Nelson thought to himself, Are they really this close already?

Bianca lowered her head shyly too.

Ever since Steven had honestly explained everything to her, she didn’t seem to resist this kind of closeness anymore.

After getting ready for a moment, Steven said, “Let’s go too. After I deal with them, I’ll come train with you.”

Bianca nodded shyly. “Okay.”

But deep inside, she felt strangely happy.

Rowenville was only a mid–sized city with a population of a little over one million people. It was considered one of the smallest mid–sized cities.

Only cities with populations above five million were called major metro cities.

Below cities were towns, which had populations under one million.

Since the great mutation began in 2030, humanity had been slaughtered by beasts, and the human population had dropped sharply. After 300 years of rebuilding, society had formed a completely new system.

Almost all humans now lived inside protected cities because the old countryside made defense too difficult.

People gathered together in cities with powerful defense systems, while the wilderness and mountains became territory ruled by beasts. Because of that, food and resources became extremely valuable.

Many resources could only be gathered outside the cities by powerful Awakened, and those missions often cost lives.

In this era, wasting food or resources was considered a serious crime.

Rowenville had ten Awakened high schools, and the one they attended was Aethercrest Awakened High.

Each Awakened high school had around 20,000 students.

The 12th grade alone had nearly 6,000 or 7,000 students.

The student population was so large because of clustered living. Within 60 miles outside Rowenville, there wasn’t another city at all. Almost everything beyond that was abandoned land.

The 6,000 to 7,000 seniors were divided into four different time slots for combat training.

Steven and Bianca’s class was assigned to the first afternoon session.

When they arrived at their designated combat arena, some students had already started training.

Meanwhile, Timothy and his group were already standing near their class section, staring coldly at Steven with mocking smiles.

After Cassandra arrived, she spoke loudly, “Now that everyone’s here, pick your opponents and begin combat training. Divine Awakening is next week, so use this final chance to push your limits!”

Steven quietly shook his head after hearing that.

Whether someone awakened a Divine Sigil had nothing to do with combat training. In the end, it all came down to fate.

Out of the 60 students in their class, maybe only a dozen would awaken Divine Sigils at all. Most would only reach B–rank or C–rank. Only three or four might awaken A–rank abilities.

As for S–rank or SS–rank, those were even rarer. Out of the entire senior class of over 6,000 students, only a few would succeed.

Yet this year, Bianca had unexpectedly appeared as an SSS–rank talent.

Damn. Who does this arrogant woman think she is?

Everyone stared at him with wide

eyes.

Nobody could believe what they had just heard.

It felt like they were hallucinating.

Even Bianca’s mouth fell open in shock.

Steven had just cursed at a teacher?

Though honestly, Cassandra really had gone too far.

Even Timothy and his group were stunned. They felt like Steven had completely lost his mind

Cassandra froze for a few seconds in disbelief before her face slowly darkened with fury.

“What did you just say?”

Steven sneered again. “Fuck that! Why don’t you write it yourself?”
