Chapter 673: Chapter 673: Messed Up

God only knew how tormented he’d been pacing back and forth outside that hospital room!

Especially when he heard Walker Grant’s incredibly clingy calls of "Chloe," it made his skin crawl!

How could someone be so two-faced?!

How could the contrast be so stark?

So gentle with his beloved wife, yet so cold and heartless toward a good brother like him!

He was truly exhausted!

Now that he’d delivered the message, Nathaniel Monroe didn’t linger. He spun around and left in a flash!

"..."

A deathly silence fell over the hospital room.

After a moment, Walker Grant sighed. "Chloe, my reputation is in tatters."

Chloe Reed looked at him, baffled, and typed out a question. "What are you talking about?"

"My image is ruined," Walker Grant said mournfully. "Someone was here. Why didn’t you warn me?"

Chloe Reed continued typing. "I thought you were enjoying yourself, so I didn’t have the heart to interrupt."

"You have to make it up to me."

Walker Grant started to whine playfully. "My image is ruined, and it’s all your fault."

Chloe Reed was speechless.

She simply put down her phone and ignored him.

"Chloe."

"Chloe, talk to me."

"Chloe, keep me company."

"Chloe... Chloe..."

Judith Pierce laughed. "I just prefer being with the rescue team. That kind of life has more meaning and value."

After a pause, she asked, "Fiona, have you seen my son?"

"Yes, I have," Fiona Linton said with a nod. "He’s seriously injured. He’s lost his sight in both eyes. But don’t you worry, Auntie. I’ll do everything in my power to heal him."

"What!"

Hearing this, Judith Pierce’s voice shot up. "He can’t see?!"

"Yes," Fiona Linton replied. But a moment later, she detected something off about Judith Pierce’s tone. "Aunt Jensen... did you not know he was injured?"

As soon as the words were out, she bit her lip.

’Oh no!’

’Did I just mess everything up?’

Judith Pierce also realized she had gotten a bit too emotional. She forcibly reined herself in and said, "I knew. I just... I just didn’t know what his condition was. Since you’re looking after him, please, you must heal him. I’m counting on you, Fiona."
