No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 846

Violet came to a sudden realization after hearing his words. She thought it over briefly before agreeing. "Alright."

With that, she headed upstairs.

After roughly two minutes, Violet's gentle voice came through the phone. "Clara, it's Damian. Do you want to take his call?"

She was simply asking for Clara's permission, not issuing an order.

A delighted voice sounded from the other end of the line. "Yes, I'll take it!"

Clara hurried out of her room and took the phone from Violet's hand.

"Mr. Langley? What's wrong? I'm playing puzzles with my friend right now."

Damian could tell at once that Clara had genuinely forgotten about their strawberry-picking plan for the afternoon.

Even so, he refused to let his mistake slide unnoticed just because she had forgotten.

He prompted her softly. "Think carefully, Clara. Is there something you've forgotten?"

Clara thought hard for a moment, and then it suddenly dawned on her. She remembered Damian's promise to take her strawberry picking after he finished buying clothes for Scarlett.

"I remember! You said you'd take me to pick strawberries this afternoon after you finished shopping with Auntie!"

Now that she recalled the promise, Damian spoke to her in a tender tone. "Clara, I need to say sorry to you. I forgot the promise I made to you this afternoon too."

Clara let out a disappointed huff. "Hmph. You didn't keep your word."

"It's all my fault," Damian admitted. "You have every right to be upset with me."

Clara pouted her little lips. After a short pause, she mumbled quietly, "But I forgot too. It's not only your fault."

Guilt tugged at Damian's heart. "Clara, my mistake is mine alone. It has nothing to do with whether you forgot or not. I was the one who made the promise, and I should have remembered it, no matter what."

Clara fell silent on the other end of the line, lost for words.

Beside him, Scarlett watched Damian's earnest demeanor, and her heart softened completely.

Damian was truly unlike other men. He had impeccable morals and a righteous outlook on life.

Her words flustered Damian a little. He hurried to say, "You're right. Let's hurry over there."

With that, Damian took Scarlett's hand and led her toward the private dining room.

The moment they reached the door, Eric's discontented voice drifted out from inside. "Dad, Mr. Graham, why isn't Mr. Langley here yet? He promised he'd be on time!"

Before the two men inside could respond with excuses, Damian pushed the door open and walked in.

The displeasure on Eric's face vanished the second he saw Damian, replaced instantly by pure delight. He hopped off his chair and skipped over cheerfully. "Mr. Langley, you're finally here!"

Still holding Scarlett's hand, Damian placed the toy he had bought on the table. "Eric, I picked this out for you. I hope you like it."

Eric's face lit up with joy at the sight of the large toy airplane. "I love it! I really love it!"

He clapped his hands excitedly. If Felix had not stood in front of him, he would have rushed straight to the door to hug his new toy.

Amused by his excitement, Damian smiled and explained, "I got held up by something, that's why I'm late. I broke my word, so I'll punish myself. I'll wake you up every morning for an entire week."

At his words, Eric's face twisted into a comical grimace. "Huh? That's not a punishment for you at all! That's just torture for me!"
