No Second Baby No You Only Divorce (Scarlett and Vincent) novel Chapter 730

Scarlett felt her cheeks grow warm as she glanced at him. "I'd like to take a shower."

Damian turned and picked up the shirt he'd left at the foot of the bed. Handing it to her, he said, "It's all I've got here. This should work for now."

"Thanks," Scarlett replied, taking the shirt from him.

He nodded toward the en-suite bathroom. "Bathroom's right there. Just give me a shout when you're finished—I can help you dry your hair."

Scarlett didn't answer. She simply headed into the bathroom, shirt in hand.

After her shower, she slipped into Damian's shirt. It was overwhelmingly large on her, hanging well past the tops of her thighs. Seeing how thoroughly it covered her, she felt comfortable enough to step out.

Damian was waiting just outside the bathroom door. When Scarlett emerged, his eyes flicked toward her, then quickly shifted away.

The shirt swam on her frame, but even its loose fit couldn't hide everything. Her hair was still damp, and droplets of water trailed down onto the fabric, leaving certain areas clinging subtly to her shape. And her long, toned legs were practically impossible to ignore.

If he kept looking, Damian thought he might actually get a nosebleed.

When he didn't move, Scarlett—her hair still wet—walked around to face him. "Damian, do you have a hairdryer I could use?"

She stood close now, carrying that clean, just-showered scent.

It was the same body wash he always used, but on her, it seemed to hit differently. A sudden, sharp urge washed over him—he wanted to pull her in and kiss her.

But he held himself back.

When he still didn't respond, Scarlett gently tugged the hem of his shirt. "Damian..."

Her voice had taken on a faint, pleading tone.

Damian looked down at her, his pulse picking up speed. "Yeah, of course," he said quickly. "Let me grab it for you."

He found the hairdryer almost immediately and handed it over. "Why don't you start drying your hair? I'm, uh... I'm gonna hop in the shower."

He didn't meet her eyes once as he said it.

Sensing something was off, Scarlett stayed quiet.

Damien headed into the bathroom. Even though it was chilly outside, he turned the water to cold and let it run over him.

By the time he came back out, Scarlett had dried her hair but was still wearing his shirt.

Her hair fell straight and long down her back, making her silhouette appear even more delicate.

Damian's heart gave a hard thud. He knew he was in trouble all over again.

Scarlett turned and saw him. Holding out the hairdryer, she said, "You should dry yours too. Don't want you catching a cold."

Then he deliberately let his tongue trace the skin he'd just bitten.

Scarlett shuddered involuntarily.

A moment later, Damian's hands settled firmly on her waist. He lifted her gently to the side and set her down beside him on the bed.

Still in his robe, he stood up. "Get ready, then. I'm gonna step out for a smoke."

With that, he walked out onto the balcony.

Scarlett watched his retreating figure for a few seconds before looking away.

This was Damian's villa. There weren't any clothes here for her. Reluctantly, she pulled on the same outfit she'd worn the night before.

Once dressed, she walked over to the sliding glass door. Tapping lightly, she said softly, "Damian, I'm ready."

He had just finished his cigarette. Turning at the sound of her voice, he saw she was still in yesterday's clothes—and it hit him. Of course there was nothing here for her to wear.

He stubbed out the cigarette in the ashtray, slid the door open, and stepped back inside. Looking down at her, he said, "C'mon, I'll take you to pick up something to wear."

Scarlett opened her mouth to decline, but then she remembered what day it was—the divorce hearing—and decided not to argue.

They left Damian's villa, and he drove them to a nearby shopping center.
