Sabrina broke down in tears. She clung to Vincent, her voice trembling as she asked, "You keep telling me to wait... but how much longer? When will it be enough?"
Vincent gently eased her back, looking down at her with a softened tone. "Sabrina, just tell me what you want. If it can be bought, it's yours."
She shook her head, tears still streaming. "I don't want things. I just want to be your woman—for real."
Vincent cradled her face, brushing a tear away with his thumb. "You already are."
"No," Sabrina whispered, her voice shattered. "I mean really yours. You've never even slept with me. Just once... please, just once."
She looked up at him, eyes pleading, placing herself in a position of complete vulnerability.
For a moment, Vincent saw a faint shadow of Scarlett in her expression—the way she had begged him long ago to go with her, to meet her parents...
His thoughts spiraled into the past, pulling him into a daze.
Noticing his distraction, Sabrina squeezed his arm lightly. "Vincent?"
He snapped back to the present and met her gaze. Softly, he promised, "After the divorce. The night it's finalized, we will. Okay?"
The despair in Sabrina's eyes vanished instantly. "When will that be?"
Vincent stroked her hair. "A few days. It's going to court soon."
"Really?" Her eyes lit up.
He drew her gently into his arms, resting his chin on her head. "Yes. Really."
Sabrina cried even harder, burying her face in his chest. "Vincent, I love you... so much."
He kissed the top of her head but said nothing. Against his will, another woman's face surfaced in his mind.
After calming Sabrina down, Vincent still ate the lunch she'd brought.
When they were done, he encouraged her to rest in the lounge.
Wrapped in a blanket that carried Vincent's scent, Sabrina drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.
She didn't wake until late afternoon.
A knock came at the door—Vincent's voice followed. "Sabrina, it's six. Time to head home."
She scrambled out of bed, barefoot, and rushed to open the door. Throwing herself into his arms, she stood on her toes and brushed her lips near his ear. "I dreamed about you, Vincent."
He stiffened briefly, his first instinct to pull away. But instead, he held her closer. "What was the dream?" he asked, his voice gentle.
The office outside was empty and quiet.
Vincent pressed the elevator button, and they stepped inside.
The ride down was silent.
Sabrina watched their reflection in the polished elevator walls, feeling both giddy and uneasy.
They reached the underground parking level and stepped out, hand in hand.
Just as they approached Vincent's Rolls-Royce, a quiet voice came from the shadows behind them. "Sabrina."
She turned instinctively. Daniel emerged from behind a pillar, stepping into the dim light.
He looked exhausted, his expression strained.
Sabrina blinked in surprise. "Daniel?"
Ignoring their linked hands, Daniel spoke directly to her. "I need to talk to you."
Sabrina gave Vincent's hand a deliberate squeeze. "Given the situation, it wouldn't be right for us to talk alone. Whatever you have to say, you can say it here—in front of Vincent."
