“Zoe was right about you! You’re just a cheap woman who’d do anything for money!” Caleb snarled at Cluinn, ignoring Melody’s sudden entrance.
Quinn’s face stung from the slap, and she tasted blood in her mouth. Melody, shocked by Caleb’s actions, intervened furiously.
“Caleb, what kind of man are you? How could you even hit a woman?” She pushed him away and quickly led Quinn out of the room

Outside, Melody apologiand profusely, “Quinn, I’m so sorry. It’s all my fault. Caleb called me this afternoon and asked me to invite you. I thought he wanted to make amends, so agreed to help him trick you into coming. If I had known he’d do this, I never would have helped him.”
As they walked, Quin spotted a fambar tigure surrounded by men in suits by the elevators. When the elevator arrived, one of the suited men said, “Mr. Sutton, the elevator’s here.”
Cameron looked up and replied, “You go ahead.”
The suited group changed puzzled looks but did not question him, boarding the elevator without another word. Melody had wanted to catch that elevator, but it closed before she could teache
Giving up, she turned back to Quin
“Quinn, wait for me by the elevators. I really need to use the restroom–I’ve had an upset stomach these past couple of days,” she said, suddenly feeling unwell. Since waiting for the next elevator would take some time, she had to use the restroom first.
“Sure,“Quinn agreed, and she walked toward the elevator as Melody clutched her belly and hurried off.
