Jasmine thought he looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't pinpoint where she had seen him.
Less than two minutes later, someone else arrived.
This time, she recognized the man. It was Castle Joyner from Glenhaven City.
Back when Jasmine was trying to build connections in Glenhaven City, she had attempted to network with the Joyner family.
Unfortunately, she never even qualified for a meeting with Castle.
Noreen, on the other hand, not only knew him but had almost married him.
When the two were briefly engaged, Jasmine had felt a mix of relief and intense jealousy.
Relieved because Noreen's engagement meant Carman Holt would finally give up on her.
Jealous because Noreen had managed to secure a man of a much higher, elite caliber.
It was a social tier Jasmine would never be able to touch in her lifetime.
Fortunately, Noreen had been dumped in the end.
No one knew just how ecstatic Jasmine was when she heard the news.
So what if Noreen was capable?
In the end, she still couldn't marry into a top-tier family, right?
She still got tossed aside, right?
But that fleeting joy was completely shattered when she saw Castle Joyner dressed to the nines, attending Noreen's birthday party.
Jasmine couldn't fathom it. Noreen was practically drowning in her own crises, so why was Castle still here celebrating her birthday?
While she was struggling to process this, a young man hurried up to the entrance, looking as though he had traveled a long way.
She heard him ask the receptionist, "Is my senior here yet?"
The receptionist replied respectfully, "Yes, Mr. Brooke. Ms. Gilmore is already inside. You can head right in."
The woman quickly apologized. "I know, I know. It's a good thing you have decent connections and found out that President Harcourt is attending Noreen's party. We would have missed a golden opportunity."
The man chuckled smugly. "It's not just President Harcourt tonight. Mr. Joyner from Glenhaven City is here, Henry Brooke from the Brooke Group in Northcrest, and even Academician Joyner, the founder of Voyage Capital!"
"You know Halley Joyner, right? He's Noreen's mentor. Think about how much economic power Voyage Capital controls! And every single one of his protégés has created a business miracle."
"With these people backing her, Winrich's little crisis is nothing."
The woman gasped. "Imagine the business opportunities in there!"
"So mind your manners tonight. Don't say anything stupid," the man warned.
She nodded eagerly. "Got it! I promise I won't hold you back!"
After signing the guestbook, the couple walked inside.
Jasmine's face was contorted with absolute dismay.
