Noreen replied with a simple, *She is the only true friend I have,* forcing Seth into total submission.
He just had to keep enduring it. What else could he do?
After all, he was the secret lover who wasn't allowed to see the light of day.
After work, Claire dragged Noreen straight to the restaurant she had picked out.
The moment Noreen walked in, she realized she had been played.
Claire had actually brought her to the massively popular Male Revue Show to see their latest hit, Whispers of Spring.
Claire smirked devilishly. "Just eating is so boring, don't you think?"
She aggressively pulled Noreen into her seat to wait for the show to start.
Waiters brought out their courses one by one.
Claire pulled out her phone and started taking a million pictures, and the second the actors hit the stage, the crowd went wild.
At first, Noreen didn't fully comprehend the severity of the situation.
Until the men on stage ripped off their ancient robes, exposing their heavily muscled, chiseled torsos, causing the entire audience to erupt in deafening screams.
It was brutally obvious that absolutely no one was here for the food.
Claire shamelessly filmed the entire thing, groaning in sheer disappointment when the actors removed their outer skirts. "Why are they wearing long white pants underneath?!"
Noreen stared blankly.
What else did she expect?
For them to strip entirely naked?
After recording enough footage, Claire went on a sharing spree.
She even "accidentally" dropped the videos into their work group chat.
Oh, right, it should be mentioned that she had literally just created this chat group today.
The only members were her, Noreen, Sophia Cole, and... Seth.
Her excuse for making it was that, as Noreen's temporary assistant, Sophia or Seth could just delegate tasks directly to her in the chat.
Sophia was currently hiding in the chat, far too terrified to type so much as a punctuation mark.
By the time Claire dropped her tenth video of shirtless men into the group, a system message popped up.
*Assistant Harcourt has left the group.*
Claire locked her phone.
That ought to put him in his place!
Meanwhile, across town.
*I'm at your front door.*
Noreen checked the time.
It was eleven-thirty at night!
What was he doing at her house in the middle of the night?!
Noreen scrambled out of the bedroom, rushing to open the door.
But Seth casually unlocked the door himself and barged right in.
The moment she saw him, her scalp tingled with anxiety.
Her first instinct was to whip around and pull Claire's door firmly shut.
Before she could even turn all the way back around, Seth yanked her roughly into his arms.
Noreen jumped in shock, but before she could cry out, he captured her lips.
The kiss was desperate and entirely chaotic.
And it tasted faintly of alcohol...
Was he drunk?
