My Second Chance Mate is a Barbarian (Sera and Fenris) novel Chapter 331

Sera

I watched her cross the yard. She went fast, elbows tight, and Jace saw her coming and had time to get one word out before she was on him, and then I couldn't hear any of it, which was probably a mercy. Her hands moved.

His didn't, mostly. At one point she hit him in the chest, then again, and again.

He took her by the wrist and drew her a few steps off toward the front of the column where the horses screened them. He put himself between her and the rest of the yard and bent his head down to hers. Whatever he said, I didn't get it. I saw the shape of him saying it. I saw her stop trying to pull her wrist back.

Fenris got up off his knee beside me, brushing the snow off it, watching the same thing I was watching.

"Told you she would hate you," I said.

He grunted, but didn’t say anything else.

He watched his sister a second longer, some weight moving behind his eyes that he didn't put words to, and then he set it down.

"Come," he said to me. Then without looking to the side, he called — "Yvara."

She left Jace's side at her name, crossed to us, inclined her head at me the exact amount and no more. "My Luna."

“It’s strange when you say it. Please stop.”

“I can’t. You are our Luna… I can’t stop.”

I sighed. What a pain.

"Is it ready?" Fenris asked.

"Yes."

She turned and led us off, away from the torches and the horses, around the near corner of the keep to where the ground dropped and the stables ran long and low against the back wall.
