Sera
I was wearing Fenris’s clothes.
The heavy, dark wool trousers were meant for a younger northern warrior, but they fit my hips tightly, and the thick grey tunic hung loosely off my shoulders. Every time I inhaled, my lungs filled with the sharp scent of mountain pine and his dark, spicy sweat. The fabric was rough against my skin, but it carried a heavy, territorial weight that made me feel completely grounded.
I walked into my room and pushed the heavy oak door shut behind me.
Mina was exactly where I left her, but she had kicked the thick fur blankets completely off the mattress during the night. She lay sprawled out on her back, her legs thrown wide, taking up almost the entire space. The thin fabric of her sleep tunic clung tightly to her chest. The freezing air in the room made her nipples stand at peak, pressing against the cloth like hard diamonds.
She looked entirely careless. She had absolutely no worry in the world.
I stared at her, and a sharp, longing ache hit the center of my chest. It reminded me of Lyra. My younger sister used to sleep exactly like that in the Valdris palace, completely oblivious to the political venom spinning around her in the daylight. I missed Lyra. Looking at Mina’s peaceful face, I actually wished Lyra had traveled with the caravan instead of my mother. It felt like a wasted trip.
My mother was nothing but a massive thorn in my side. Her and Torin. They were a liability waiting to explode. But I knew exactly what they were doing behind closed doors, and that gave me a complete chokehold on both of them.
My stomach let out a loud, hollow grumble. I was starving.
I shifted my weight on the stone floor, and the rough wool of Fenris's trousers rubbed directly against my inner thighs. My pussy moistoned. Just the scent of him clinging to my collar sent a heavy, throbbing pulse straight between my legs.
I remembered sitting on his lap in the dark. I remembered the sheer heat of his hand pushing into me. If anything, last night was the closest we had ever been to actually fucking. But Fenris had put a dead halt to it once more, forcing us to wait for the vows. The physical frustration was maddening.
Mina let out a low, rough groan. She shifted on the mattress, her arms stretching wide over her head, and let out a soft purr. She slowly fluttered her dark eyes open.
"Did you fight a bear in your sleep?" I asked casually, leaning my back against the closed door.
Mina smiled lazily. She stretched her legs out and slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from her eyes.
