My Alpha Wants Two Lunas? I'M Done (Laila and Holt) novel Chapter 8

Chapter 8 Sisters, My Ass

Holt’s POV:

“Hiss-”

My heart suddenly tightened, like an invisible wolf claw was squeezing my heart. A chill ran up my spine.

I was holding Maris, but suddenly her soft, warm body felt a little too hot to hold.

“What’s wrong?”

She looked up at me, desire still simmering in her eyes.

“It’s nothing.” I shook my head, trying to shake off the weird feeling. But I couldn’t stop myself from saying. “I–I just remembered something. The Conlays‘ she–wolves have a special ability. They can see what their mate is doing through the mark. Do you think Laila saw us?”

“Only Alpha–level Conlays she–wolves can do that, right?” Maris clearly knew the old rumor, too. She let out a dismissive laugh, her fluffy tail brushing my leg. “And Laila is just an omega.”

“Yeah…” I forced myself to nod. Laila was only an Omega. Even if I marked her, she shouldn’t be able to see or hear anything. I was overthinking it.

“Let’s keep going.”

Her voice was low and tempting. As I lifted her up, I caught a glimpse of the flag underneath us. The Silvermoon and Ironclaw symbols were woven together. Laila’s mom–the former Luna of Silvermoon Pack–had sewn this herself.

I had promised the whole pack I’d treat it like a family treasure. Now it was crumpled, sticky, ruined.

A small, sharp guilt pricked me, like scratching myself with my own claw. Ever since the news of her mother’s death, the flag felt even more meaningful.

But soon, my instincts took over again. Maris’s scent was so strong and aggressive–exactly what I wanted in a powerful partner. As for the flag, it was just an object. I’d have a servant clean it later. Laila would never know.

I let myself get lost in the tide of lust again, throwing away that weird feeling and my cheap guilt.

Laila’s POV:

I didn’t sleep at all. Instead, I spent the whole night training in the back mountains, getting back in sync with Nita.

Three years of being forced down made my wolf feel like a caged beast. She needed a little time to remember how to use her claws and fangs. But it wouldn’t take long….

I could feel the quiet power building with every sprint, every strike, rushing through my veins.

Sisters, my ass.

In the hallway, I told her, “You don’t need to come here just because of me anymore.”

“Silly girl,” she said, looking at me with worry. “Even if you didn’t say anything, this would’ve been my last time stepping into this rotten den. What about you? What’s the plan? Are going to put up with it?”

“No,” I looked her in the eye. “I’m going to break my mate bond with Holt.”

“Good! Finally!” Rowan finally smiled. “Now that’s more like the little princess of the Silvermoon Pack! Honestly, I’d never have put up with this family’s cheap, arrogant nonsense if it weren’t for you!”

Her laugh was loud, like a cold but refreshing mountain wind, clearing some of the heaviness in my chest.

At least someone out there still respected the pride of the Conlays.

After Rowan left, I went back to my room to sort through all the Ironclaw Pack’s records and accounts from the past year. The numbers and details slowly calmed me down–proof of everything I’d done, and bargaining chips for what came next.

But that focus didn’t last long.

The door slammed open without even a knock.

Holt walked in with Maris–hands still freaking intertwined.
