A figure walked in, dressed in a deep wine–red velvet gown, a silver–gray fox fur cloak draped elegantly over her shoulders.
Laila looked up. The woman before her had brilliant golden hair cascading in soft waves down her back. Her brow was sharply defined, her green eyes cool and deep like still water. Her nose was straight, her lips naturally tinted a soft rose. Her features were striking and refined, like something out of a classical oil painting.
A pair of ruby earrings swayed gently at her ears, catching the candlelight and glinting against her pale neck.
Her waist was slender, her steps unhurried. She was beautiful, but there was also a cold arrogance and a distance that made her hard to approach.
The moment Evelyn saw her walk in, her brows furrowed. How dare this lowly omega show herself instead of staying out of sight?
“Go back,” she ordered coldly.
But Tiffany ignored her completely, her gaze sweeping across everyone present.
When her eyes landed on Lillian, she let out a disdainful snort.
Lillian trembled slightly but said nothing.
Tiffany then turned to Laila and Viola. “So, these are the ‘important guests‘ I’m not allowed to see?”
“Shut up!” Lillian finally couldn’t hold back, her voice trembling with anger. “Why are you here? Get out!”
“Oh my, don’t be so angry.” Tiffany’s tone was falsely sweet, dripping with mock concern. “If you upset yourself and harm the baby, I wouldn’t want to be blamed for that.”
“Tiffany!” Evelyn’s face turned ashen, though she restrained herself in front of Laila. “What nonsense are you spouting? Apologize to General Conlay immediately!”
She deliberately emphasized Laila’s title. Tiffany’s gaze shifted to Laila and Viola, then settled on Laila’s face. A flicker of surprise passed through her eyes; perhaps she hadn’t expected Laila to be this beautiful
A thought crossed her mind. How did she compare to herself?
“I didn’t say anything wrong,” she replied coolly. “Why should I apologize?”
The moment she finished speaking, Viola’s temper snapped. She bared her teeth, looking ready to storm over and slap that face without hesitation.
Laila wasn’t much calmer. But the years had tempered her and made her steadier.
This was technically a domestic matter within Thunder Pack’s Alpha family. Under normal circumstances, she wouldn’t get involved.
But this involved Lillian. If Evelyn refused to act, she wouldn’t mind letting Viola handle it.
So she simply stood there silently. A faint Alpha pressure spread from her.

Evelyn’s heart tightened.

She understood that Laila was giving her a chance to handle this with dignity. If she didn’t act now, this situation would spiral out
of control.
Laila was no ordinary woman. She had earned great merit, and more importantly, she was Samuel’s chosen Luna. Even after she fled the mating ceremony, Samuel hadn’t pursued the matter. Instead, he had publicly declared her as his Luna. That alone showed her importance.
Offending someone like her would bring no good.
“Guards,” Evelyn said sharply. “Drag her out.”
Two maids stepped forward at once, reaching for Tiffany’s arms.
Tiffany shook them off violently, her gaze turning razor–sharp. “How dare you touch me with your filthy hands?”
She let out a cold laugh and strode out.
At the doorway, her voice rang clearly back into the room.
“Hmph, General Conlay? She just spread her legs and traded her body for military glory!”
Viola’s anger exploded.
She stood up, her voice eerily calm. “Excuse me for a moment.”
The next second, she had already stormed out the door.
From the courtyard came Tiffany’s scream, “What are you doing?”
