The attendant could only offer an apologetic, strained smile. "Please remain calm, everyone. The equipment is currently undergoing maintenance. As soon as it is operational, the crew will notify you immediately."
"Save that garbage for the low-level buyers," someone interrupted impatiently. "Do we look like the kind of people you can brush off that easily?"
The smile on the attendant's face froze.
For a moment, he was completely at a loss for words.
Just then, a man sitting near the corner of the lounge swirled the liquor in his glass and spoke with loaded implication. "I doubt it's an equipment failure."
The moment those words left his mouth.
The disgruntled crowd all turned their attention toward him. "What do you mean?"
The man smirked. "From what I've heard, there's a problem with the cargo."
"There was a massive security alert down in The Med-Tech Quarantine a little while ago. I have a guy positioned near the lower decks. He said they locked down multiple corridors and drastically spiked the security protocols."
Hearing this, the expressions of the buyers subtly shifted. "The Med-Tech Quarantine? How does this involve the medical sector?"
The man took a slow sip of his drink, relishing the suspense, chuckling softly.
Only when the room was practically vibrating with impatience did he leisurely continue. "Because the issue lies with the Living Assets. Rumor has it, it's a massive crisis. The underground doctors the ship hired couldn't even make a dent in it."
He leaned in, lowering his voice. "I heard... it even cost some lives."
The crowd leaned in closer, thoroughly hooked, firing off questions. "What kind of cargo is this? How could it be killing people?"
The man smiled cryptically, wagging a finger. "Isn't it obvious? This batch of special cargo isn't just serums or frozen samples. It's highly likely... they are live subjects."
Live subjects?!
"The Panacea?"
That name was familiar to almost everyone in the room.
The Panacea’s reputation in the underground medical world had exploded recently.
Especially for those dealing in human experiments, genetic serums, and the disposal of failed subjects; that name was virtually legendary.
"You mean the same Panacea who poisoned the ship's inspectors right after boarding?"
"Who else could it be?" someone chimed in. "She slaps the crew in the face the moment she steps on deck, and now they have to treat her like their savior to handle the special cargo."
"This Panacea really is something else."
A buyer rubbed his hands together excitedly. "What on earth is that cargo? To render the entire medical sector helpless? To force them to crawl back to the very woman who humiliated them publicly?"
