Messing With Her? Are You Crazy! novel Chapter 1395

"Beautiful, smart, capable, and filial. You couldn't find a second girl like her in all of Vaelion City."

"My Serena is naturally the best."

Old Mr. Blackwood grinned, his wrinkles smoothing out with pride. "She really is. And such a wonderful girl will soon be my granddaughter, too."

Old Mr. Lancaster's smile vanished. "Bite your tongue. Stop pushing your luck."

Old Mr. Blackwood was righteous. "How am I pushing my luck? You personally agreed to this arrangement when they were kids."

Old Mr. Lancaster scoffed. "Nothing is set in stone. My Serena is still young. You Blackwoods need to stop scheming to snatch my granddaughter away."

Old Mr. Blackwood's beard twitched in indignation. "How is it snatching?"

"The two of them are mutually in love, a match made in heaven!"

"Besides, Nicholas and Serena are a done deal."

Old Mr. Lancaster sneered. "A done deal?"

He looked around, his tone full of disdain. "The gala has been going on for a while. Where is that brat of yours?"

"My Serena is so stunning and incredible tonight, who knows how many eyes are on her."

"If Nicholas isn't guarding her properly and she finds a better guy, dumping him on the spot, your Blackwood family will be the ones crying."

Old Mr. Blackwood glared. "Bullshit! I might complain about my boy sometimes, but realistically, which of these generic losers in attendance can even compare to him?"

He glanced secretly at Serena as he spoke.

Seeing her eyes lowered, seemingly paying no attention, he leaned in and whispered to Old Mr. Lancaster. "What are you rushing for? The kid went to prepare a surprise. Do you old geezers know nothing about modern romance?"

Old Mr. Lancaster was speechless.

Serena kept her gaze lowered, her fingertip lightly tracing the rim of her glass.

The corners of her lips curled up uncontrollably.

Sebastian looked to be in his fifties, dressed in a dark bespoke suit, wearing a genial smile.

Dominic wore a sharp silver suit, his features handsome, holding a glass of red wine with casual elegance.

"Mr. Lancaster. Mr. Blackwood."

Sebastian greeted them with a hearty laugh. His posture seemed polite, but there was an underlying hint of arrogance. "It's been years. You two look as sharp as ever."

Old Mr. Lancaster turned his gaze.

The Montgomery family rarely made public appearances in Vaelion City these days.

Since they were willing to attend Serena's Vinton Debutante Gala, he had to give them basic courtesy.

Old Mr. Lancaster nodded faintly. "Mr. Montgomery. You flatter us."

"The Montgomery family rarely ventures out in public. I will remember that you gave this old man some face by attending my granddaughter's gala."
