Serena, who had been quietly listening, finally lifted her gaze. "If it's a ship, it needs supplies. It needs to load cargo. It needs crew rotations. As long as it leaves a footprint, I can track it."
Jasper's eyes instantly lit up at her words. "Exactly! If that rust bucket leaves so much as a single pixel of data on the maritime networks, I'll completely dissect it." He sat up straight, his fingers flying across his keyboard in a blur. "Just sit back and watch me work, Serena. I am not messing this up!"
Nicholas smoothly leaned forward, reaching past Serena's shoulder to rest his hand on the table. The angle made it look as though he had pulled her directly into his embrace.
The aggressive shift in posture immediately drew the murderous glares of all three Lancaster brothers.
Completely unfazed, Nicholas offered a breathtaking, arrogant smile. "Serena, this ship has no nationality and no fixed route. It doesn't dock at conventional ports. If we want to get on board, we need top-tier clearance."
A phantom ship operating in international waters couldn't be infiltrated the way they had breached the island fortress.
Nicholas turned his head, his warm breath ghosting over her ear. "I'll secure our passes for Whitecliffe Harbor."
"Okay," Serena murmured.
She tilted her head slightly, her gaze locking with his stunning, mesmerizing eyes. The stars seemed to reflect in his dark irises, holding nothing but her reflection.
They were inches apart, their breathing practically tangled together.
Serena's lips curved into a faint, challenging smirk. "Nicholas, aren't you afraid my brothers will actually kill you?"
Nicholas: "..."
The atmosphere in the room was definitely turning lethal.
Serena paused.
Julian continued, "Grandpa has been wanting to host your official debutante gala for months. After seeing the event your maternal grandparents threw for you, the family has been talking about it nonstop. When you weren't ready before, everyone respected your wishes."
The ruthless, sophisticated titan of the corporate world suddenly struggled to find the right words. He looked at her with pure, unadulterated affection. "The family just... we really want to formally introduce you to the world."
"Not because you're famous, and not because you just saved Elyndor's pride on the global stage."
"But simply because you are, and always have been, a daughter of the Lancaster family."
Julian's smile was infinitely tender. "Mom and Dad searched for you for twenty years."
