He looked at Gerald as he replied, “No, we need to set up pinhole cameras in two private rooms here. This is an espionage

Gerald was a little shocked. 

Gilpore even stopped at a shop on the way and bought two pinhole cameras, which made Gerald wonder what he was going -to do with them.

that Gerald learned that Cilmore was going to set them up in private rooms of this restaurant.
