Chapter 83 

“Ethan, why do you say that?” Lola glanced at Ethan. 

Dominick had been in a coma for three days, and Lola had thought he would die. 

Ethan knew why Dominick took three days to wake up, so he waved his hand indifferently, saying, “It doesn’t matter. He is blessed, so he won’t die.” 

Lola pressed her lips, thought for a moment, and looked at Dominick seriously. 

“Thanks to you last time, otherwise I would have died. I didn’t expect you to be hurt. Sorry.” 

Lola thought for two days and came up with these words. 

She didn’t know what to say to express her feelings. 

Dominick risked his own life to save her, and he didn’t let her know he was injured, preferring to endure it alone. 

Lola didn’t understand why Dominick’s attitude towards her was changeable. He seemed to alienate her, but sometimes, he was very kind to her, even regardless of the consequences. 

She couldn’t understand him because Dominick’s behaviors were so strange. 

Dominick’s gaze fixed on Lola’s face. He could not bear to let Lola blame herself 

“It’s just a minor injury. How did you know?” 

Dominick looked at Ethan with a bit of blame. It was probably Ethan who told Lola. 

“Hey, don’t look at me like that. I didn’t tell her. Layla is smart. She noticed something was wrong and knew you were injured early the next morning, so she came here with me.” 

Ethan looked away, avoiding Dominick’s gaze. 

Dominick understood. Lola discovered something was wrong, Besides, Ethan must have leaked information for some consideration. 

Looking at Dominick’s pale face, Lola felt even more guilty. 

“What do you want to eat? I’ll buy it for you.” Lola really couldn’t think of a way to relieve her guilty conscience. 

Dominick didn’t want Lola to have self–blame feelings for him, which was not what he wanted. 

“Don’t be like this. I’m really fine.” 

Ethan patted Lola on the shoulder, saying, “He said he’s okay, so just trust him. Okay, don’t overthink about it or feel stressed.” 

Lola lowered her head and said nothing more. 

“By the way, have you found out who sent those killers?” Dominick’s eyes darkened. 

If he knew who dared to attack Lola, he would definitely not let the person go. 

Ethan ceased his smile and said coldly, Not yet. The surviving man hasn’t woken up yet, but I guess we probably won’t be able to get any

“I’ll ask Henry to continue the investigation.” Dominick had never hoped to find out the person behind the scenes from that man. 

“How are you feeling?” 

Dominick felt that there was only a little pain in his back, nothing else. 

Lola peeled the orange and naturally placed a segment of it in Dominick’s hand. 

He put it into his mouth.

“I’m fine. It’s just a small injury.” 

Dominick ate the orange before answering Ethan. Before he could speak again, Lola placed another orange segment into his hand. 

“Discharge from the hospital early. It’s not safe in the hospital. I guess your identity has been revealed. The enemy is hidden, and we are exposed. The situation is not good for us,” Ethan said seriously. 

Before Dominick finished the orange in his hand, Lola stuffed another segment into his hand again. He simply didn’t answer Ethan’s question and ate the orange. 

Without getting Dominick’s answer, Ethan turned around and saw him eating an orange intently. 

He rolled his eyes at Dominick, feeling speechless. 

“I remember that you don’t like oranges.” Ethan raised an eyebrow as if saying this on purpose. 

Lola paused, asking Dominick, “You don’t like oranges?” 

She looked down at the half–orange in her hand, then placed it on the table beside the bed. 

“I like oranges.” 

Dominick instinctively held Lola’s hand, which was about to put the orange aside, and brought it back to rest on Lola’s lap. 

Lola was stunned, looking at him in surprise, 

Dominick’s palm was warmer than hers. She was stunned and forgot to take her hand out for a moment. 

“What are you doing?” 

A jealous voice broke the silence of this moment, and Lola immediately pulled her hand out from Dominick’s. 

“Scott? Why are you…” Lola was a little surprised, but there was no guilt in her eyes. 

She didn’t think she did something disloyal 

But when Scott came in, she saw Dominick holding Lola’s hand, and she could no longer hide her dissatisfaction.

“Scott, you misunderstood. Mr. Sinclair was injured to save me. I want to do something to express my gratitude.” 

Scott frowned slightly and looked at Dominick. 

No wonder he noticed that something was wrong with Lola in the past two days. It turned out that she went out with Ethan to visit Dominick.

Scott’s face darkened. “What do you mean? You want to snatch Layla from me?” 

Dominick took the orange that Lola had just peeled and broke off an orange segment. 

“You can’t take good care of her, and I’ll do it. I never think Lola is only yours, so I’m not snatching her back. 

“Whoever can take care of her well can be with her. I won’t let her get any hurt. 

“Dare you say that you only care about Lola? You dare not. 

Being retorted, Scott felt that his throat was clogged with dissatisfaction, and he didn’t know what to say for a while.
