Chapter 114 

Ethan settled Lola in the room to rest, then turned to see Jenna shivering on the sofa. 

He handed Jenna a towel with a complex expression. “So, you mean your bracelet accidentally fell into the sea, and Layla tried to help you retrieve it. But she lost her balance and fell in. Is that right?”

“Of course. Why else would I have pushed her? Layla will wake up sooner or later. You can just ask her directly if I pushed her or not. It’s easy to find out. 

“You don’t need to be so wary of me. And I’m not stupid enough to do something harmful to her. If I wanted to get rid of evidence, why would I go down to save her? It would be easier to let her drown.” 

Jenna chuckled, “I know you’re cautious of me. You’re worried I might harm her. But have you ever considered that I’m also your sister, and we share blood ties? 

“Ethan, Layla isn’t your only sister. I know I’ve disappointed you with my past actions, but at the end of the day, we are still family. I almost die because of Layla just now. Why aren’t you concerned about me?” 

Ethan paused slightly. He realized he really didn’t have much fondness for Jenna. 

He felt perhaps it was because they hadn’t interacted much, or maybe it was because Jenna had done too many outrageous things in the past. He had truly forgotten he had another sister. 

“Just dry yourself off to prevent catching a cold.” Ethan pressed his lips, ignoring Jenna’s question from earlier. 

Ethan couldn’t quite express his feelings. If he had misunderstood Jenna, he would indeed feel guilty. 

With his words, Ethan had already shown signs of being affected 

Jenna achieved her goal. She didn’t go through all that for nothing today. 

“Thank you, Ethan.” 

Lola’s cough suddenly came from the cabin. Ethan hurriedly rushed in before Jenna could finish her words. 

“Layla, how are you feeling? Is there any discomfort? Do you need to go to the hospital?” 

Jenna clearly heard Ethan’s concerned voice and her expression turned dark, sharply contrasting with what it was before. 

Ethan’s care for Lola was genuine. He was indeed a caring brother. She thought why didn’t he have this expression when she was in the water just now? 

She looked cruel with a hint of determination. 

“Ethan…I’m fine.” Lola’s voice sounded hoarse and strained as she struggled to sit up. 

“How did you fall?” Ethan sat down, looking into Lola’s eyes seriously. 

“Think carefully about what happened earlier. Did someone push you, or…” 

Lola blinked in confusion. She had just woken up and was still recovering from the shock, so her reaction was slow.

Lola recalled what had happened earlier. “Jenna’s bracelet fell, and I went to grab… 

“No, it should be Jenna, I went together to grab the bracelet, but then I lost my balance and got knocked down.” 

“Jenna pushed you?” Ethan’s expression darkened. 

“No, she didn’t. I lost my balance. Jenna had no reason to push me. 

Lola’s explanation and Jenna’s matched up, giving Ethan the answer he needed. 

He thought this matter probably had nothing to do with Jenna. 

Jenna saved you. After you fell, she jumped in to rescue you. 

“Jenna saved me! Lola’s eyes widened slightly. “How is Jenna? Is the okay?” 

Ethan’s expression was complicated. “Yeah, she’s fine.” 

The news of Jenna saving Lola quickly spread to Mason and Jasmine. 

Jenna’s behavior softened their attitude towards her a bit. 

She had risked her life to save Lola. They became much less wary of Jenna. 

“Mom, Dad, I brought your favorite dessert today, no sugar. You can enjoy it without any worries.” 

The day after the festival, Jenna went straight to Silverbrook Tower. 

Until Lola returned, Jenna was accompanying them in Lola’s identity. 

Although she didn’t come back often, occasionally, she would bring things they liked. 

Knowing what Jenna had done, Mason and Jasmine were angry, but Jenna risked her life to save Lola, and bringing their favorite treats like she used to, they couldn’t bring themselves to drive her away. 

“Put things down.” 

Mason’s expression was complicated. Though he still looked stem, he didn’t chase Jenna away. 

Jasmine sighed softly, “Sit down. You haven’t been feeling well, have you? 

“You didn’t catch a cold coming out of the water, did you?” 

Jenna smiled softly. She felt it seemed they had decided to accept her. 

“Mom, try this. It’s delicious. You mentioned you wanted to eat it before, but I never had the chance to bring it to you Today, I ran 12 miles to get it for you.” 

Jenna took out an exquisite cake from the box. 

Jasmine’s mood was complicated, but she no longer held hostility

His words seemed to be a reminder to Jenna not to have any plans regarding Lola’s shares. 

“I think it’s the right thing to do. It should be given to Layla, She deserves it.” 

Jenna looked at Lola and jokingly said, “Layla, you’ll have a tough time in the future. Managing such a big company, you’ve got quite the responsibility on your shoulders.”
