"Let’s go."
Gu Sheng flicked the Blood Pearl off his sword, and suddenly furrowed his brow.
"Someone’s coming."
At the cave entrance, two shadows stood against the light.
Gu Sheng and Ling Xiao, stepped slowly towards the entrance.
The outside light spilled through the narrow entrance, casting dappled shadows on the ground.
Gu Sheng spoke softly, his voice laced with amusement.
"Remember our plan."
Ling Xiao pressed his lips together and nodded.
Yet, for some reason, every time he saw Gu Sheng’s eyes, as deep as ancient wells, the unease in his heart inexplicably calmed down.
As the two stepped out of the cave, two silhouettes flashed from the sides, blocking their path.
"Well, isn’t it Junior Brother Gu and Ling Xiao?"
Ke Yucheng’s sharp, thin face held a mocking smile, and his eyes glinted with greed.
"What, planning to sneak away?"
Tang Zhiyuan stood slightly behind, his gaze somberly assessing them.
He was much taller than Ke Yucheng, his gray robe fluttered without wind, the pressure of mid-Earth Palace Realm subtly emanating, making the surrounding air seem dense.
"Where is Pan Zhuang?"
Tang Zhiyuan asked bluntly, his voice as deep as rumbling thunder.
Gu Sheng smiled slightly, calmly meeting Tang Zhiyuan’s gaze.
"Senior Brother Tang, what a strange question to ask. How would I know where Pan and the others went?"
"Nonsense!"
Ke Yucheng shouted harshly.
"We watched you eight enter the cave together; now it’s just the two of you left?"
Gu Sheng leisurely tidied his sleeve, as if he hadn’t heard Ke Yucheng’s ranting.
Ling Xiao stood beside Gu Sheng, feeling the pressure released by Tang Zhiyuan, his breath becoming heavy.
Tang Zhiyuan narrowed his eyes, full of suspicion.
Ordinarily, a Earth Palace Realm cultivator under his pressure should be trembling, yet Gu Sheng seemed unaffected, even with a faint smile on his lips.
"Junior Brother Gu."
Tang Zhiyuan decided to probe.
"What exactly happened inside the cave? Why only the two of you came out?"
He deliberately elevated the pressure to its peak, causing the surrounding pebbles to tremble slightly.
Ling Xiao grunted, his face pale, but Gu Sheng remained unchanged, not even a flicker in his clothes.
"Why make such a fuss, Senior Brother Tang?"
Gu Sheng chuckled lightly.
"We simply split up. Pan and the others had other urgent matters and let us go ahead."
Ke Yucheng, seeing this, was livid.
"Senior Brother Tang, why waste words with this kid? Just capture them and perform Soul Search!"
Tang Zhiyuan raised his hand to stop Ke Yucheng.
He stared into Gu Sheng’s eyes, searching for a flaw, but those eyes were deep and terrifyingly calm.
"Junior Brother Gu."
Tang Zhiyuan said solemnly.
"I advise you to be honest. Did Pan Zhuang discover some Treasure inside the cave?"
Upon hearing this, Gu Sheng’s eyes showed an imperceptible sneer.
He had been waiting for those words.
Ke Yucheng stomped his foot angrily.
"Senior Brother Tang, what are you waiting for? Are you scared by a kid from the Earth Palace Realm?"
Tang Zhiyuan’s face darkened.
"Doesn’t it seem strange to you? That boy was unfazed by my pressure."
"Maybe he has some Protective Dharma Treasure!"
Ke Yucheng said impatiently.
"We’ve followed them all this way, finally waiting for this opportunity, are we just giving up?"
Tang Zhiyuan looked towards the pitch-black cave entrance, his brow furrowed.
Faint blood scent wafted out, mixed with an indescribable aura, instinctively making him uneasy.
Inside the cave, Ling Xiao asked in a low voice.
"Gu Sheng, why not deal with them outside directly? With your strength..."
Gu Sheng shook his head, gently placing his finger on Ling Xiao’s lips to signal her to be silent.
His Divine Sense had long enveloped the whole cave entrance, listening clearly to the conversation outside.
"Outside is too open."
Gu Sheng spoke through a secret transmission.
"Once we start, the commotion will be too big. Besides..."
He looked up at the cave ceiling.
"That big figure is still watching."
Ling Xiao followed his gaze but saw only darkness.
But she knew Gu Sheng’s Divine Sense far exceeded ordinary people; if he said someone was watching, then it was certainly true.
"What do we do now?"
Ling Xiao asked with concern.
