Infinite Mana In The Apocalypse novel Chapter 5541

Chapter 5541: THE Mortal Coil! II

The two rising True Lifeforms fell out of the sky!

They had lifted off the ruined terraces at the very moment THE MORTAL COIL came down as they were done with waiting and coming up to end the reinforcements themselves, and so they were the highest things in the sky when their power went out, and there was nothing beneath them but air and a very... long way down.

They fell.

And they were enormous, mountains given the shape of bodies, and even stripped down to nothing they were still that big, still that heavy, and mass falling from that height did what mass falling from that height does to anything at all, no matter how mighty it had been a breath ago.

BOOM!

The first one hit the scorched land and the ground came up around it in a crater, and Noah heard the sound its body made, and it was not the sound of a titan striking earth, it was the sound of bones.

Snapping. In their dozens!

A giant made human and then dropped, and every part of it that had been holding a mountain’s worth of weight came apart under that weight the instant the authority that had carried it so lightly for ages was simply gone, and the second one came down a heartbeat later in its own crater with its own long chorus of breaking, and then the gardens of THE Ymnaros filled with a sound that this Dimension had, in all its ages of war, quite possibly never heard once.

"AHHH!"

"AWOOO!"

...!

Two Infinite True Lifeforms, SCREAMING.

Screaming, high and ragged and utterly without dignity, the raw animal sound of a living thing in more pain than it had ever been built to feel, because pain was a human thing and these two had never in their long existences been human until right now, and it had found them all at once, and they had no idea what to do with it!

They writhed in their craters and they wailed, and they bled.

And Noah gazed out at the rest of the army.

Their faces had gone ashen.

Thousands of them, tens of thousands, the whole vast army that had filled the sky with its weight, and across every single face was the same dawning horror as the Infinity they had felt inside themselves since before their first memory, the constant private river of power that was more theirs than their own names...simply was not there anymore.

They reached for it the way a person reaches for a step that is not where they left it, and found nothing, and the nothing was worse than any blow Noah could have struck, because a blow they would have understood!

Even beside him, it expressed itself.

Ryaenara, the Mirthful Antiquity, made a small startled sound and pressed both hands flat to her own chest, and her eyes went wide, because she did not feel an ounce of power inside herself either!

And the high winds of THE Ymnaros caught at a body that suddenly had nothing anchoring it to anything and nearly took her clean off the platform, until Anaximander’s hand closed on her shoulder and held her down.

The scholar himself stood steady, because he was simply built different, but even he had gone quiet with the strangeness of it.

And beneath them all, Hvitrmarr began to descend, slowly, because Noah patted her scales and she brought them down, and she brought them down the ordinary way, wings and weight and air, because Hvitrmarr did not have access to a single shred of authority inside this domain either.

She was, right now, a massive white reptile with wings. A very large animal, gliding down toward a garden!

Everybody was human!

And Noah, THE True Human Emperor, felt himself returned to a sensation he had not touched since the very beginning of everything, since a fireball skillbook, since the first time he had ever reached inside a feeble human body and felt a thin thread of mana answer!

Oh!

That was what this was! Truly human!

He reached inside himself, and his Osmontian Source Infinity was still there, still his, still coursing through him exactly as it always had, except now he could only touch it at the scale a Rank F Hunter could touch anything. A trickle. A thread!

And truly, even this was not accurate as an F Rank Hunter could not truly touch something like Osmontian Source Infinity. So it was more accurate to say that he could display the power as THE True Human Emperor...at the level of a Rank F Hunter as designated in his home world.

The whole ocean was inside him and he was permitted to draw a single sliver from it, because that was the privilege the Word had left him, the standing of a human at the very start of the road, the weakest a striving person begins as!

It was surreal past describing to be nearly as weak as a normal human again, and to have chosen it, and to be standing in the middle of an army while he did.

THE Aura of THE Protagonist is registering the change in your condition.

You have designated yourself an F-Rank Hunter within a domain containing an army of former True Lifeforms and Infinite Lifeforms, all reduced to the same human baseline. The adversity you now face is calculated against your CURRENT standing, not your true one.

You are, functionally, a single human standing alone against tens of thousands of humans, any one of whom could potentially kill you with their bare hands should they reach you. The adversity multiplier has scaled tremendously.

Osmontian Biomass generation is climbing accordingly. Current intake: 400,000, and rising as the army grasps its situation. Projected sustained yield while this state holds: in the tens of millions. This is the single richest field THE Aura of THE Protagonist has ever stood upon.
