Her saving Grace novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23

I soon reached home and opened the front door with my keys. As I pulled the door open, the door was being pulled from the inside. It swung open, hitting the wall behind it. My eyes went wide as I saw a very drunk Allan standing in front of me. He was drunk a lot lately. He pulled me inside the house roughly.

“Why is it that you are always coming in at six and I know that school ends at two thirty?” He demanded in an angry voice.

“I…I was at a f-friend’s house. He was tutoring me.” I answered. I was really terrified of the murderous look in his eyes. I could tell he was very drunk. His eyes were bloodshot.

“Is that what they are calling it these days? Tutoring?” He asked pointing a finger at me. “You are a slut. That’s what you are.” He spat at me.

“You are way out of line.” I said. I was trying very hard to contain my anger. How dare he calls me a slut?

Allan was near me in one movement and he grabbed my neck roughly. He began to squeeze it hard. “You are the one that’s out of line, giving it to every boy who asks.”

His grip tightened on my throat and I couldn’t breath. I used both my hands to pry his off my neck, but it was no use. He was too strong. Finally he let me go and I began to cough uncontrollably.

“Now go to your room, you filthy slut! You disgust me!” He shouted at me.

I took up my bag that had fallen to the floor, when Allan had grabbed me and turned, running quickly to my room. I didn’t want to take any chances of him finishing what he had started.

I was soaked from head to toe. My entire body was shivering from the clothes that clung to my body and my hair was wet.

I was now sheltering under the last bus stop that was near the school. I can’t believe it, as soon as I was near school, the rain caught me.

Okay, I said to myself. I have to leave this bus stop, if I have any intention of reaching school on time.

I took a deep breath and ran as fast as I could, this time I didn’t stop until I reach the school’s door. I opened the door quickly and head straight for the bathroom.

When I was in the bathroom, I wring my hair dry and used the paper towel that was in the bathroom to dry off. It was not much use because I was completely wet.

I looked at myself and sighed. I definitely can’t go to class like this. I left the bathroom and walked to Jasmine’s locker. Hopefully, she has some extra clothes in her locker to lend me. I knew for sure that I didn’t have any

I was glad when I saw Jasmine at her locker getting her books. She turned around at my presence and her eyes went wide. “Kayla, what happened to you?” She asked.
