Chapter 10
Jon still wouldn’t sign.
Messages everywhere. Calls. Texts. All day.
I blocked him on everything.
Alex’s face was stone. “Fine. If words don’t work, we do it the other way.”
Two weeks later, Hartwell Industries was crashing.
Jon’s dad had four affairs exposed. Scandals everywhere.
His mom got caught embezzling. Police investigation.
Alex teamed up with every small company Jon’s family had ever crushed. They burned them together.
Even if it cost them, they made sure Hartwell paid.
The ‘great dynasty’ crumbled.

Jon’s face went blank. “That’s impossible. I always used protection.”
Her eyes shifted. “Some of them. I poked holes.”
“It’s yours. You have to take care of me.”
She was trying to trap him. With the family falling apart, who knew if it was a win or a disaster.
Jon lost it. They started fighting.
I grabbed the signed papers. Slipped out with my guards.
Got in Alex’s car.
Flew home to Sunnydale.
