Genetic Ascension novel Chapter 2231

Nyssenne leaned back on the chair, her private room now just as vacant as her eyes.

She had… lost?

She, Nyssenne Zoruunkai, had lost in this way to an unknown figure. She who sat tenth amongst the best C-tier Rune Masters of the entire Skai Heaven. She who stood as a near unmatched genius amongst her peers of the Thryskai, one of the seven most powerful Clans of the entire Demi-God Skai Heaven… Had lost? And in such utterly humiliating fashion?

Sylas didn't even seem to be all that shocked or impressed. She would have thought that he was someone who simply didn't know who she was, but how could that be possible?

The only Rune Creators who could travel to the Creation Towers of the other Heavens were the S-tiers who had figured out how to bend and break some of the tower's rules.

That was to say that anyone beneath the S-tier that was also here had to be from the Skai Heaven. And if they were from the Skai Heaven, it was impossible that they wouldn't recognize a Thryskai when they saw one. And if they were a Rune Master, it was almost just as impossible that they wouldn't know who she was.

She was someone countless youths looked up to. She had one of the best Runic Age ratios in all of existence, and when it came to her strength to Rune comprehension, she was amongst the best of the very best as well.

How… could she possibly lose to someone she didn't even know?

"Creation… of… Key…"

The words came out dull and lifeless on her lips. Could Sylas really be the one? And he was taking his Creation Tower exam now?

But if the tower had picked her out, then didn't that mean that the odds it would also pick out the others would also be… quite high?

Nyssenne laughed hollowly.

What a joke. Why should she care about that? She had lost. She had actually lost.

A fire suddenly blazed in her eyes as she stood to her feet.

She wouldn't let her path crumble like this.

Sylas watched as a young man collapsed to a knee, heaving for breath. This was already the fourth person he had faced off against, but honestly, he thought this form of competition was pretty unfair… for them.

The problem was that the tower kept trying to test his priming ability.

One had to recall that Will Priming was one of the techniques that helped Rune Masters the most—especially those at Spark and above mastery. You essentially prepped the world with your Will to configure and shift it around so that it formed an environment conducive to the Rune or Runes you wanted to forge.

Unfortunately for these "geniuses", Sylas' Will was already off the charts. His Charisma? Even more so. If Sylas had to give his Charisma a ranking right now, it was probably well beyond True Infinity. It might even dwarf the equivalent Will level of the Monkey King in Charisma alone.

The Rune shattered and the man across from him looked on in shock as though he couldn't believe it. For a moment he thought Sylas was messing with him.

"Who are you? Why are you trying to humiliate the Thryskai?" he asked coldly.

Sylas just looked at him, wondering if he would stop talking and hurry up. He was trying to learn more.

While it was the case he felt like he was starting to fall behind, the more he battled it out against these people, the more he grasped, and the more weaknesses he began to cover up for.

Faelan's gaze became ice freezing and his Skai Eye opened up wide on his forehead. A sweeping, chilly blue light passed and the world seemed to grow colder in kind.

"Fine." He said coldly. "We'll see how much longer you can keep this up for."

A new Rune began to form and Faelan's Will trembled.

Sylas' eyes narrowed. The other Thryskai he faced hadn't used their Skai Eyes, but that should be because it wasn't helpful in this sort of competition.

Faelan had, though.

Sylas became a hint more serious as the Rune took shape.
